My Boyfriend/daughters father, came home from work tonight with a few new fish, one of which is my 3 1/2 year olds "own" fish. I asked her what she wanted to name it, we gave her a few normal fish names, and she kept saying no. So I asked her "well what DO you want his name to be?" she looked at me and said "Mickey!".... She hasnt even been to Disney yet but I already have her addicted! Anyone else have their children name pets after a Disney character without any prompting from you?

My son never named a pet after anything Disney, as we have had all of our pets since long before he came along, but last summer, he did come up with a funny name (I thought) for a tadpole turned frog in our pond. Once it changed completly to a frog, it sat on a rock in the sun, allowing my 4 year old to watch it. Well he decided to name it Froggy 104.3 - after a radio station! lol

Nope - No Disney names.

My 7 y/o daughter named her Gold Oranda (goldfish) Luke Skywalker and her Black Moor (another goldfish) Darth Vader.

Over the course of time, black Darth Vader lost his coloring and turned gold, and then Luke Skywalker died.

There is some sort of tie-in with comming back to the good side and imbalances in the force, but I haven't found it yet.

I love Froggy 104.3. Only station to listen to in the Burgh!

Our cat, who passed away 2 years ago, was named Simba. I named him. We didn't have kids when we got him. Our cat now is named London. He came with that name but my dd was excited because she loves London Tipton from the Suite Life on the Disney Channel. It worked out for us!

My friend's 9yo named his two gold fish Walt & Disney. I was so proud! I haven't even met him but it's nice to know that the influence is spreading!

My son has named a lot of his Webkins after Disney characters. I'm sure if we got a new pet, it would have a Disney name too. My sisters children named there most recent dog Minnie. :)

I had 5 goldfish at one point that I had named Aslan, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy.

I tried to name my parakeet Zazu, but he didn't respond to the name. So I changed it to Zulu. I was quite upset, but oh well! :D

My sister did have a cat named Tigger when I was little. That cat got into SO much trouble, it wasn't even funny. Never liked to sit still either, constantly 'bounced' off the walls.

The rest of the animals in my house (3 cats, 2 dogs, guinea pig, about 50 or so fish (all my one brothers)) have normal names. Although I did try to get my sister to name her new guinea pig Rosetta, she decided it wasn't 'Christmas-y' enough (she got it as a Christmas present) and named it Holly instead.

My DD named her hamster Splash Mountain. He passed away about 1 1/2 ago. We also have a dog whose name is Disney World but that was with a little prompting from me.:lookaroun

Can't go wrong with Mickey!

Aquariums are great for kids!! One of my favorite hobbies was taking care of my fish tank. To this day I'm a fish geek... unfortunately I don't have time, space or money for a tank at the moment. If you ever have any fish related questions just shoot me a PM. :)

Never had any Disney named pets. The ones I or my children have named for characters were:

Me:
Hampster named "Digger" (from "Shirt Tails")
Cat(American shorthair) named "Cleo" (from "Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats")

Kids:
Cat(Bengal) named "Leia" (Princess Leia from "Star Wars")
Cat(Siamese) named "Taun We" (Taun We from SW: AotC)

My wife wants me to add that she had a cat named "Sebastian" so she did have a Disney named pet.
