I'm taking my boyfriend for his first time to Caribbean Beach in October! That probably wasn't the main point of your post but just thought I'd mention it :).

Our second trip to the world was last October to celebrate my boyfriend's 60th bday. We stayed at the CBR and loved the sandy beach with the hammocks. Loved it so much it will now be difficult for me to stay at a resort with no sandy beach and hammocks! October is a spectacular month to go for the weather and the food at Epcot!

Back in 2010 I don't remember seeing many tour groups in the World. Going back again this week and I just hope that it isn't an issue this time because they can really ruin a vacation if they are reckless and causing havoc in the parks. If I encounter a reckless group who are jumping the lines and pushing people out of the way, I'll be sure to ring the police and let a senior CM know about it. It's just a shame that the CMs don't seem to do much about this.

me too, we leave in 9 days and if I run into behavior that is unsafe I am determined to make management deal with it.

We got back from our vacation in WDW about a week ago and there were a ton of tour groups there... We were staying at All Star Music and our first night there were some teens who were still running around and making noise at 11pm... I called the front desk (i'm sure a few other guests did the same) and security was sent over to quiet them down... Thankfully the rest of our stay was quiet the following nights...

Well the problem is Disney makes a lot of money from them. They cannot single out certain tour groups (no matter how terrible they can be) legally. I have seen them bring the magic of Disney down countless times. They sing about soccer, which may not seem to bad but when you get hundreds of them yelling it you cannot hear anything else but them. Disney can do something about that part of it but I have never seen anything done.

I have also seen many smaller groups from Brazil doing just fine. It may be when you get so many groups together that they get pretty rowdy. Don't they go to there local games and then destroy stuff after it? Maybe thats just the way their culture is.

You can send a complaint to the executive offices. They will always be nice and courtesy with a return phone call, but dont expect anything to change. They just make you feel better but rarely do anything.

Money rules indeed. The tour groups are not stopping the other guests from going to WDW so there really isn't motivation for Disney to deal with the tour groups or stop accomodating them. The front line CM's have little control. My son during a parade had a guests climbing atop the wall in front of Peco's. Must be polite. Guest gets down. DS turns and back up on wall again. This happens multiple times. Finally guest says to DS, I'm not getting down so you should stop trying. Guest on wall CM in trouble with supervisor. CM gets tough with guest, guest complains, CM in trouble. I know he eventually asked his lead what would you do? Told to tell guest I am asking you nicely for your safety to get down, next time it will be security and they will nicely escort you out the main gate. He tried that several times and it worked. Too many guests realize Disney front end CM's are kinda powerless.

When I went down in the spring we watched security escort a man, woman and child in stroller out and they then trucked over to guest relations, louder and louder. While DS used that restroom I listened and they were told to move off the property or Orange County would be called. Security followed them to the express monorail about 20' behind. I could see the security guard radio ahead when the monorail pulled out. Thinking everyones idea of moving up a few levels to at least security might be the only way of getting the hirer ups to take note of guests displeasure.

We had a small group throw Laugh up for grabs this spring, shouting and interupting. It ruined the show.

They were EVERYWHERE. Not even joking! A CM had to see them. Here are some places- during the parade in front of HoP, by small world and PPF, Main Street, Pirates, and some I didn't see I'm sure. It was horrible! We only went for one day to the MK, but from 9am to 11pm we saw a TON. Why pay $95 to get in, then sleep? o_O
Because they are up to 4 in the morning running around the resorts, keeping other guests awake.

This past week I rode SGE with a friend who had never been on the ride before. I warned her to keep her expectations low for the ride but we encountered some extra trouble while on the ride. When the lights first went out a large tour group of older teens started screaming and singing extremely loud. You couldn't hear any of the dialogue and everyone was then surprised with the terrible smell. The screaming continued until the ride was over and when we finnally got out there were several childeren who were mortified with the experience. As much as I dislike the ride I would still have rather heard it then hear loud screaming the whole time. And the way the kids were crying at the end mad me so sad. It's stuff like this that makes me hate those tour groups.

We went to disney every year during mid april, and never encountered them. It was always a great time to go! :) When I went for my honeymoon last July- THEY WERE EVERYWHERE. Seriously. Could not find a ride without a group of 100 of them standing in front of us going wild. It wasn't even just Brazilian groups. Lots of school things. It definitely takes a bit of the magic away.

So awesome about your upgrade! I love that disney does care about their guests. All you have to do is ask and they are willing to go out of their way to make things better.
