Hyde Park Entertainment has come aboard to co-finance the romantic comedy Shopgirl, the feature adaptation of Steve Martin's novella set up at Disney's Touchstone Pictures. The film will reteam Hyde Park, Martin and Disney, who collaborated on current box office hit Bringing Down the House.

Shopgirl, based on Martin's adaptation, centers around a girl who sells gloves and other accessories at Neiman Marcus. Feeling useless in her job and unfulfilled by a romantic relationship, she is bowled over when a rich, divorced older man, Ray Porter (Martin), enters her life.

Hyde Park will handle international distribution rights with Disney releasing domestically. Martin will shoot the film after completing his starring role in 20th Century Fox's Cheaper by the Dozen remake.

Disney is eyeing Anand Tucker to helm the pic, which also will star Claire Danes and Jimmy Fallon. Shooting is expected to begin in September.
