Marvel is venturing into the horror realm this October, as Hulu prepares to debut Helstrom, a chilling supernatural thriller inspired by the company's Son of Satan and Satana characters.

Created by Roy Thomas and Gary Friedrich, Daimon Hellstrom (yes, the comics were a little more on the nose with their spelling) first debuted in the pages of Ghost Rider #1 in 1973 before being spun off into his own series, and later became a member of the Defenders, while Daimon's sister Satana (created by Thomas and artist John Romita Sr.) first appeared in Vampire Tales #2, going on to team up with the Thunderbolts and often crossing paths with Doctor Strange.

The new series centers around Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer, as they track down the worst of humanity - each with their own unique skills (and familial baggage).

In addition to Austen and Lemmon, the 10-episode first season stars Elizabeth Marvel as Daimon and Ana's mother, Victoria; Robert Wisdom as the mysterious Caretaker; Ariana Guerra as Gabriella Rosetti; June Carryl as Dr. Louise Hastings; and Alain Uy as Chris Yen. The series was created for television and executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski along with Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb, and is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios, which is part of Disney Television Studios.
