How to get "free" trips to DisneyWorld...

Oh, I've also started paying in cash more often. Because let's face it, all those nickels, pennies, and dimes add up quickly. (side note: it helps to pull out the washer and dryer each month, as well as rotate the couch cushions!)

Before I went to the World last month with the Kagan seminars, I was able to roll up $140 in change.
My sister has a rather large change jar for my nephew's "Gotcha" trip in February. I think she's up to about $400.

So they're renting a vacation house - with two other families - and only hitting WDW for two days...

Doesn't sound like a WDW vacation I'd want to be on, free or not. 😆

Reminds me of Uncle Frank from Home Alone.

Ive purchased several plastic and ceramic Mickey banks over the years that get all my pocket change at the end of every day. Two of them get only quarters deposited in them, the others all other change. By the time we book a trip, ( 1 to 2 years time ) they're usually filled to the top.

these articles are a bit misleading.. basically she simply is earning money differently. She really isn't getting the trips free.
She's buying stuff she would normally buy, and getting rebates for doing so. That sounds like free money to me...
There are also those who use cash-back credit cards and use them to purchase discount Disney cards, thus compounding their benefit.

If she's doing Swagbucks she has to fill out surveys. That's time. No different than a person working out of their home.
It's just like the folks who say they "retired" early but the make a living off of blogging. Lol that ain't retired that's just a different job.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. If she is spending time on surveys or even taking time to figure out which things to buy to get rewards, its time spent to make money. Thats a job. She could have most likely gotten a part time job and saved $2,200 in less time than she spent taking surveys and such.

I bet she doesn't get a W-2 or a 1099 from Swagbucks, tho'...

True, but one could also argue that if she had gotten a part time job, it's income that she can claim , thus helping to improve her credit (debt/income ratio) which could help her get a credit card with better rewards possibly.

The article also sneaks in at the last minute that she flips Louis Vuitton purses. Which would indicate that she most likely used some, if not all of the profits from her job as a purse flipper. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that a large chunk of that $2,200 came from the purse gig, aka, job.

You are assuming a lot about her credit, you have absolutely no clue

Exactly.

So when I owned my business, I charged everything on my Disney Visa.
The biggest reward card that I used was about $3600.
That vacation was (almost) free.

Same. (Just about.). Haven’t paid for tix in years. Often stay on site no charge. Dinner at V&A free.

I ended my comment with the word, "possibly". Does that not convey that my statement admits to being open to fault?

Are you not assuming as well? Are you not assuming that I didn't take into account my lack of personal credit information on the lady? How dare you, Sir.

Just don't even understand why you took the conversation that direction, has no relevance and is all speculation, just doesn't make sense to me

I think we are just "speculating" on the various ways to stretch rewards and cash back offers. the article says she uses her jet blue credit card to get rewards and that she is working this part time.

just extrapolating possibilities, I don't think anyone is making hardfast declarations on how her credit rating stands

Basically she is a Homemaker, and has time to go out and get reward perks. Well good for her, I can respect the initiative.

I don't mean to come across as a horrible person, that's not the intent...but I'd like to see the math on this sort of effort vs the same time spent working a job. It just seems like a whole lot of effort for very little gain.

Again, if you're gonna shop anyway, why not pick up a little bonus on the side? As for the surveys and other stuff, well... everyone needs a hobby.
