How strict is Aulani on how many people you have in a room

They will be strict. So the question is, do you feel lucky enough to get away with an extra? Are you prepared to deal with the stress of being found out your whole vacation, or of possibly being evicted from your room?

All hotels are very strict. It's fire codes and they will not take kindly to you trying to get around the limits. If discovered you may have the option of buying another room or you may be evicted. That latter is a distinct possibility by the way. This is about safety, you have far less time to get out in an emergency than you think and every second counts. And extra people in an area slows the egress of everyone in that area.

Hotels cannot allow people to do this and the legal consequences are high. As a hotelier I'm going to say that it irks me greatly that people would put themselves and others at risk doing something like this. Don't even think about doing it.

Even if there were zero risk of getting caught and the fire code had nothing to do with it, how about "don't be a dishonest cheapskate, have some self respect, and pay the appropriate rate for the service you're getting."

You do raise another point, though less important to me in some ways than safety. But, if the extra person is an adult and they try to sneak them in then they are trying to evade the extra adult fee. That quite simply put is fraud and just ups the probability of bring evicted and perhaps being charged with the fraud.

In some fairness to the OP, it was never stated he was trying to sneak in the extra person. It could have been asked in the spirit of what would the resort do if asked to add one person even if it meant paying extra.

Ok. I've priced Aulani so I know how much a week in a two bedroom suite would be. We have 5 adults in our family. Still the idea of spending that much money on what should be a relaxing vacation in a wonderful resort like that crammed into a suite with 9, let alone 10 people is unimaginable to me. If you can afford the two bedroom suite, while it's not cheap, there should be a way to get at least one other room where two or three people could stay and alleviate some congestion and keep you within the maximum occupancy of each room.

Best of luck on whatever you decide.
