How many customers will Disney+ report for the quarter?

Netflix reported an anemic quarterly growth of less than 4 million, bringing them to a total customer base of 207.64 million. Disney+ gained 5.1 million customers in January and February. Therefore it is very likely that Disney+ will have half the Netflix total. Remember that excludes the free Hotstar Advertising based service, Hulu and ESPN+. Revenue wise, Netflix brought in 7.163 billion.

So how will Disney do? At the end of last quarter they said their RPU for Disney+ was $4.03 a month. Therefore 100 million customer would bring in $403 million for the quarter, but that was before the rate increase and the fact that the Star section was added after passing 100 million customers. I think Disney+ will announce 105 million customers and an RPU just a little higher than the $4.03 because the rate increase was close to the end of March. Hulu and ESPN should also show small increases in customer counts and hopefully Hulu with live TV added a few thousand more subscribers. Bottom line, I expect Disney to have over $5 billion in streaming revenue for the quarter and grow to over $6 billion in the quarter ending June and at that point only be $1 billion behind Netflix in quarterly revenue.
