Ok folks, Iam scratching my head on this one..As most of you will have read on here..MK is having a 24 hour party from 6.00am till 6.00am... Has anyone out there done one of these advents, and if so,how did you achieve it.? Now Ive been up at 6.00am at Disney to have a early breakfast and hit a rope drop, but come midnight,I'am shattered. Now that includes a swim and chill out period back at my resort..So what's the plan of attack to stay the distance..???

Last year on Leap Day, it was a madhouse at MK. I am claustrophobic, and after a while I had to get out (I am sure that after 1 or 2 it thinned out, but at the time I was boxed in with someone in a wheelchair and it was not a good time)....

Did meet a couple who had started the day in MK at rope drop and were staying until 1 PM, then rushing to MCO for a flight to California and rushing right to DL. They would complete the rest of the 24 hours there. Now that sounded fun!

I don't know if I could handle 24 hours in the park. Even with small crowds, it would be hard to do the same rides over and over. If there were different parades, shows, characters, that could be something to keep my adrenelin going, but I think I would need at least a short rest back at the hotel to recharge.

I would so love to do this. As it is, I'll be watching a less expensive matinee of the new Trek movie instead here in NJ. Life's not too bad.
I guess the parking lot opens at 5am?
I've done opening to 1:20 am and I was BEAT, and that's without an early opening time like this.

6 pack of 5 hr energy? Small but many meals?

I couldn't do it, thats for sure! However, I am a night owl, but I just can't see myself in MK at 3AM! LOL I'm sure there's a way (maybe hit the bed around 6pm and sleep for say, 5 hours??) Im too much a creature of habit. At Disney I'm usually passed out by 11pm LOL

We'll be at WDW on the 24th, but we are going to avoid MK that day. I'm sure that's where most people will be spending the day since you get "free extra hours". I don't do well when I don't get enough sleep and that's just not the way I want to start my trip. Anyhoo, go and enjoy and try to take it slow and easy.

Caffiene!!!!!! It does the body wonders ;). Though still drink plenty of water too of course

Also I would generally suggest taking a break during the middle of the day. Now I don't necessarily mean leaving the park. I just mean parking yourself for an hour or two in the ice cream shop or Casey's ect. Usually I would recommend doing this in the 12-3 corridor as that is generally the most crowded time. And then when everyone is at the 3 o'clock parade, go ride some rides.

Also, this may be the day you actually do want to trek across the park at fast speeds to get new fast passes at the exact time you can. More you can get, the better of you'll be in terms of waits. My record is 11 on a regular day, hehe. ;)

As always, go ride the most popular attractions early. I would personally recommend going into Frontierland Land first, riding BTMR and Splash (and getting a Fast Pass for it in addition to riding it). It's been documented more people go to the right than left, which is why Frontierland is a better place to start. And then high tail it to Fantasyland to ride what you can before the rides get too long. Pick up a FP for your fav ride in there or consider next going in Tomorrow Land for a ride on Space and a FP for Space. If you are booking it, you can get a ton done in the first few hours. Then you get that nice rest in the afternoon to recover. Easy peasy ;)

To do 24 straight hours in MK I would need to wake up with a mountain, do some chill rides like PotC or Haunted Mansion, and then catch some shows and do some exploring. Just think of all of the shows and acts there are that many of us pass by. Casey's Corner Pianist, Dapper Dans, Dream Along with Mickey, The Royal Majesty Makers, and parades. Explore Tom Sawyer's Island and ride the rails. Do the occasional mountain to keep the blood pumping. HoP, Tiki, and CoP after lunch or mid-day snack to take a quick nap. Then crank it up with BLSRS, more HM, JC, MTP, PPF, and more POTC. Later, after the fireworks when some of the families start to leave keep awake with mountain, after mountain, after mountain, until they kick me out, or I drop from exhaustion. All the other attractions can fill the time between. STAY OUT OF HOP and CoP after midnight!

Me too, Deb. I love WDW but I also love my sleep!!
We have been up until 1am and really felt it the next day!! And now it's somewhat harder the older we get.
If we did do that 24 hr thing, we would definitely come back to the room and take a nap and freshen up and go back in the evening!! That's the only way.

I agree, but then have to admit, by the time we get back to our resort, and I take my shoes off, the most I do is climb into my jammies, pour a glass of wine, and sit on the balcony, then rest to do it all over again the next day ;)
