How do you kep your stroller from being stolen?

I have often been curious about this, even back before we needed one. I would see that sea of strollers outside a ride and wonder.

How much of a problem is this?

I worry about everything, so I worry about this happening. What do you do to prevent it? What do you do if it happens?

It does not seem to be much of one at all. We were there about 10-12 times a year for 8 years with a stroller and never had a thing taken even once.

We've had a stroller with us every time (usually full of stuff including cameras, merch bags, toys, etc.) and have never once had a problem. A lot of the more crowded parking areas have CM there who is "re-parking" and arranging strollers. You will occasionally come out and find that your stroller is not where you left it, but that's usually because a CM has re-parked it for you.

As we are going in May, I wonder/worry about the same thing. I know there is an old thread about this. I still can't decide to take my BOB stroller or the less comfortable umbrella stroller. I mean how much is she going to be in the dern thing when we get there?...

We never have (and probably never will) travel with the BOB. Yes, it is a marvelous stroller, but I would fear for it getting stolen. But more than this, that thing is huge. Using anything other than an umbrella (or slightly larger) would be problematic, I would think. I have seen some links on these boards for some strollers that I think are better than your standard $10 umbrella stroller, but not as pricey or bulky as a BOB.

I will say this... our son spent way more time in it than we thought right through our September 2011 trip (he was 5 1/2 years old). He would get completely worn out and it was the only option. We did use an umbrella though because of the bulk.

We haven't had an issue with it really. We make sure to carry as minimal as possible just in case it does happen, but thus far nothing..I think you should have no issue.

I do not think there is much to worry about it being stolen, maybe moved & misplaced.
You can take a bike lock but just lock the front wheels, that way the CM's still can move it, if need be. You might want to mark it somehow, so you can find it easy, like with ribbon, scarf, balloon, ect. ect. I did see on another thread that a couple would take a daiper, fix it so it looks like it was dirty, like chocolate syrup in it or a coke, put it in a bag & tie it to the stroller, they said no one has ever stolen the stroller. If you are going to be riding the buses, you might just want to take a umbrella stroller, they are easy & fast to fold up, because you have to fold the strollers up unless it is being used as a wheelchair.

Now something that you need to worry about are---THE SQUIRRELS!!!!, They crawl all over the strollers, looking for food, I would assume.

You're right-I keep thinking about all the gear we will have on the plane and getting it off it to get to the rental car place and I cringe.

Thanks for the advice, that's probably what I am going to take. As much as I love the BOB, going down Main St. with it would be like driving a tank down a freeway. :)

Also, if you are going to take it to the gate at the airport, it has to fit through the security screening machine (the one through which all the carry-on luggage goes ). Our first trip, we took the "fake" BOB (smaller and cheaper running stroller that we were not so worried about being damaged or lost), and it was an ordeal with the security. My husband had to take the wheels off and all that b/c TSA insisted it had to go through the machine. And even then it barely fit. After that, it was only smaller and lightweight for us! When you are already wrestling with a child, a ton of bags, a computer, and your shoes (and at that time, milk for the baby), having to disassemble the stroller was not another headache we needed.
