I actually hope they dont introduce anything Marvel into the current parks (except maybe a show of some sort in DHS and a store in DD), but I would be interested in seeing plans of what a potential 5th gate might look like for Marvel.

I just think it would have an odd feel in the current parks, the only thing I can think of is its own area in DHS, but I would still rather they focus on Pixar expansion or revive the old plans for a Roger Rabitt Toontown before they think about that.

Yeah, you can't expect the Marvel characters not to be somewhere in the parks. If Disney is smart and is in line with what a lot of people are thinking, they'll probably be in DHS; which makes a lot of sense.

I don't understand why everyone automatically thinks this means Marvel will be entering the parks in some fashion.

Disney simply could be buying Marvel for assets and revenue generated by the comic universe and the movies.

Besides, do you know how many assets Disney actually owns these days?

I think the speculation is because Marvel property already exists in a direct theme park competiter.

In regards to the pole, if implemented right in the parks it could be amazing, but i do have reservations that if they do bring Marvel to the parks it will be done half-heartedly... and i do worry about the future of the Spiderman ride.

Iffy. If they confine them just DHS and TASTEFULLY, I'll be fine.

I think thats right on. If Marvel does enter the existing parks in some way, as long as its done tastefully I think people will generally dig it.....I think I will dig it. But If I see Spiderman and Green Goblin fighting on top of SSE in the next comercial instead of Mickey waving to me :hurl:

I think the whole deal is kind of exciting...I can't wait to see what kind of influence Disney has on the Marvel brand.

Disney & marvel

I HATE superheroes. I've thought they were corny since I was a kid. It's disappointing to see Disney go out and buy up a franchise instead of creating one themselves; I guess they're not as creative as I thought. I liked the hokey heroes being relegated to universal because I don't go there...now they'll be polluting Disney with their presence. If Walt wasn't cremated he'd be turning over in his grave.

I agree. Marvel lacks the Disney feel and maybe they will make money some way through movies or other things but I like it better when disney starts there own great franchises. I would prefer Disney to think up characters of there own. Thats how they started and would prefer to see them continue to do that in the future.

Very disappointed by this.

Marvel characters do not belong in Disney and are completely different in both feel and ideology.

Additionally, I do feel sympathetic towards Universal. The Marvel heroes are a huge part of UI, some of the most recognizable characters they have. I think we should just keep them over there.

However, this will bring in much revenue for the Mouse, and that I am always a fan of.

(But to the people screaming "5th Gate!" ...get real )

I love the people screaming that they don't belong in Disney are probably the same people who line up to ride Star tours, Indiana Jones, Twighlight ZOne, Rocking Roller Coaster, etc on every trip.

As for the commercial of Spidey fighting Gobby on SSE...yes please.:D

Yes, because a villain and genetically mutated super hero belong in a Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

What do you mean?

It's a commercial. Lighten up!

I don't want them in EPCOT(other than Stark in Innoventions).

I guess you missed my earlier post on the matter...Anyway, I've always thought it odd that Jones and ST exist in a MK Style park, especially in the original, Disneyland. While they fit the theme and the experience and all, it's DISNEYland...you know? It works very well in MGM or a Studio Park, though.

And yeah, I'm just kinda agitated tonight. On and off line....

Understandable. I don't want them in a Disneyland-esque park, but DCA, DHS, EPCOT(only some uses like Innoventions), DSP, and TDS are fair game.

College does that.

I just finished hw a little while ago. Now I am being lazy.
