How do I insert a gif in my post?

When I try to insert it like a photo (using the icon) I get an error message.

I have to use my desktop for gifs as I get the same message when I try on my iPhone

I get the same issue on a Droid phone. It doesn't seem to be os specific.

Does this mean I have to use "attach files"?

The second one appears to work ok.

The first one via Google redirects you to a web page, so isn't an image.
