Good Morning Everyone..Hope Ya'All had a happy July 4th..Last night I had my small, and it was small as only 6 people turned up,at my Disney party.Anyway we had a great night with stories and looking at photos and of course a few drinks..One couple who have been twice to WDW ( 14 day vacations ) and are booked for 2014 amazed me by missing out on The Festival of the Lion King at AK.. ...I honestly think its the best live show at WDW..Then it got worse,my neighbours who went last year for the first time and stayed on site for a 14 day vacation missed out on POTC at MK...They also have 3 kids who would have loved that ride..How the heck did they miss that. So to my question..Did you ever come back from a Disney trip and miss out on a major attraction ? Maybe on your first visit.o_O

nope..on my first visit...I hit every single ride...except Space Mountain...which I avoided...

Confession alert! I have only been to AK twice and both time were to run and ride the Safari ride and leave and the next time was to ride EE and leave. Over twenty trips, lost count actually, and I have never spent a solid few hours there. I have future trips to set that wrong right. My grandson will be dragging me to AK one fine day and I will happily spend the day with him wherever he wants to go!

Our first trip we missed The Mad Tea Party (not intentionally) we went 2 days to the MK and we just kept doing other things. I agree with PP it was a little overwhelming even though I had planned loads. We got on the plane to come home and my DD looked at me and said, "We forgot to ride the tea cups." I said "It's okay - we'll be sure to catch them next time." She was happy with the plan to go back. So after a longer time between trips than I would like - our 2nd trip will be in November. And I plan on riding the cups with DD ASAP.

Well, considering I'm not a fan of thrill rides, I've avoided coasters every time I go. Other than that, I've never ridden the Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party (It would be too awkward spinning a tea cup all by yourself!), Maelstrom, Enchanted Tiki Room, Winnie the Pooh and believe it or not, I can't recall ever riding Dumbo. I probably rode it once during my first ever visit but I can't remember that far back and I'm 22! :p

I don't recall a time when I missed anything major, but I did find it funny that when my friend returned from a recent trip she told me that she had never seen Wishes, never been to Downtown Disney, and never rode Peter Pan. She's a Florida resident who's been to Disney multiple times, it just completely blew my mind that she had never experienced any of these, in my opinion, must-do's.

Actually the past couple of years it has been easy for people to "miss" POTC as it seems to break down for long periods for quite a while. Our last trip in March saw it on one day down three seperate times. It is easy to see how someone who has never been on POTC gives up after two or more attempts.
Depending on the time of year and time of day posted wait times will cause many people to skip popular rides and attractions.
Finally many attractions don't sound like fun but may turn out to be so if given a try. We skipped "Flights of Wonder" until a couple of years ago. After finally giving in and seeing "Flights" it has become a must do at AK.

I have no desire to go on Soarin or Toy Story Mania! Or TOT or RNR! :) people always seem shocked by it *shrugs*

I admit the only reason I go to shows is to get out of the heat! I'm too anxious to sit still by choice, but the AC gives me reason to quit bouncing around! Haha

FOLTLK is a great show, but somehow on our first two trips in 2007, well couldn't find it! Not even camp mini mickey, well were amatures. Now we know where everything is, so no excuses to miss anything except if well want to.
