How did you find out about WDWmagic?

I had a weird way because it has nothing to do with Google, which is weird because I find out about most things with Google and, not to mention, TV ads. Okay, so I wanted to download a Disney World app, and I stumbled apoun "What 2 Ride at WDW" (which is a very good app when planning a trip". I explored a little and saw that it was made by WDWMagic. I looked on the actual site, and I was very impressed. But it was a few months later that I learned about the forums, and the moment I did I signed up. I always remember that app (which I still use) and I've been proud of myself for finding out about the forums.

What was it called back then? I'm not sure

I think it may have had a few names in the early years. I dont remember the actual name when i joined but the domain was force9UK. It began as a site entirely about illuminations and evolved into the magic we know today :D

I'm honestly just curious. I found it by doing a google search on what RIver Country is now.
Ironically similar here! I discovered WDWMagic when I was first putting together my Extinct Disney website and doing searches for images and information re: extinct attractions that I wanted to include. If I remember right, it was a River Country image search and it lead me to the site. I only just recently joined the forums though because they were blocked here at work (which is where I typically post because I am a bit ADD and have to be doing 100 things at once or I can't focus LOL). :D

I had first found it for fun, then a few days later, I was looking for information on Walt Disney World's response to the 9-11 attacks at the time (see my "Member Since" date), especially to see if they had lowered the flags, and whether they had closed.

I did end up finding a poignant picture here of the flag at half-staff on Main Street, USA, and the image has stuck with me -- as has this website and this nice, crazy, funny, obnoxious, and friendly (all at times, including myself) community of people!

I especially appreciate the "This is Terrible" thread from that fateful day in 2001, which helps me remember each year that feeling of the day as it unfolded.

I agree..I read that thread every 9/11, as strange as that sounds

I don't think that sounds strange. It is a good read, and an important one.

By the way, your "Member Since" date is this year. Were you only lurking before, or here under a different name?

Nah I have been lurking since about 09, but didn't decide to make an account until recently.
