The way I see it, meat is meat.
Horse, cow, venison, lamb, veal....

Coming from a family that once had 3 farms/ranches (2 @ 200+ acres, 1 @ 40+ acres - and we still have one of the 200+ acre properties because it has an oil/gas well on it - yes, we ARE a Texas cliche :p ;)) I have eaten a LOT of different kinds of meat. Beef, of course, buffalo, lamb, rabbit, armadillo, squirrel, bullfrog, etc.
Although horses were once on those properties, they were used for work so the help was never eaten...! :D
All that being said, my answer is yes. If I ever had the chance to try it, I would.

Having spent 30 years in the military I have dined on "local Cuisine" such as horse, dog, monkey, snake etc. that said no I found horse meat to be too "sticky"

Have had rattle snake a few times before and it was good, but a bit rubbery. Would be willing to try the rest.
And no, my initials aren't AZ. ;)

rode several times when I was younger and now being married into my wifes parents bording, breeding and showing horses for dressage I would pass on eating horse. Though, If I had purchased meat at the grocery strore and had come to find that I have eaten horse I wouldn't continue to eat the meat but would not be too worried for having done so. I understand that it is served on Hatters side of the pond in several countries but is not culturally accepted here in the States.

From a health standpoint there is absolutely nothing wrong with horse meat. Taste, texture and the psychology of it might be an issue for some, but aside from that, eating horse meat is no different than beef, chicken, pork, etc.

Exactly - for the same reasons some people will not eat lamb or veal (i.e. they are too cute)

We have a guinea pig, and while I would not eat our particular one, if offered one in Peru, I would dine on it.

I heard it said that Scottish cuisine derived from a dare. But as Southerner first and an American second, we take the deep fried cake when it comes to food. Pretty sure some of those school cafeteria burgers had horse in it. Sure as hell was not beef.

I have grown up around some serious delicacies in the deep south. So if my options boiled down to:
Southern menu of raccoon, possum, chitterlings (aka chitlins), hog head souce, pig feet, nutria rat with a fried snicker for dessert, or horse, tell Mickey I like my horse medium rare.

I would say no...not because I am not adventurous, but because it just seems wrong!

We used to jokingly refer to Piccadilly as PiccaPhilly.

P.S. Piccadilly is a local chain cafeteria, not sue if they are nationwide.
Piccadly is in fact national. In fact, ever want to find a baptist after Sunday services, run to Picaddily and they will surely be there with their meat and threes.
