Honeymoon Trip

I'm getting married June 28th. We are planning on leaving June 29th, flying into Orlando(if I can convince the future wife). I would like to stay at a moderate resort, but honestly the difference in price is enough to deter me. I was wondering if you folks could give some advice on whether the week before July 4th is crowded.

Also, if you folks could let me know any special deals I might not have looked at for planning our trip. Right now, it looks like we will stay at the Pop Century Resort due to money. I'm somewhat worried about big groups staying there so any advice there would help greatly. Any advice on any of this from you generous Disneyites(making up words now) would be great. Thanks a ton!

I too would like to know about queues and stuff at that time of year. although big queues would def not put us off...fast pass all the way haha!!

Best of luck with your wedding...and convincing the wifie!

My sister got married 23 June this year and was in WDW for 4 July. I know she said that it was packed, really really busy. They stayed off site and were told not to even bother attempting to go to the parks on 4 July.

As for the week before, she said that that was really busy too. I guess some people will go for a two week holiday. I'd say definately a good time to use EMHs if you're staying on site!

Sorry I don't have any advice for you, actually just signed up to the forum today. Just wanted to stop in and say that we are another couple getting married in June this year. We will be flying down June 23rd and leave July 1st. Until this thread, I never even realized or put thought to the fact that it will be so close to the 4th of July when we are there! We are staying on site, actually planning all our dinner reservations, shows, etc.. this week.

Hi:

Congratulations and Happy New year.

I'd been at the parks in Orlando on different seasons. Unfortunately, on those dates is really full everywhere at the parks. The waiting time at the lines for the attractions could be from 30-75 mints. But the nice thing is, there are these machines (Fast Pass tickets) at almost all attractions. You insert your entrance ticket and the Fast Pass machine gives you a receipt that tells you at what time to come back to the attraction. It gives you like 1hr to use it. The not to good thing is, you cannot have 2 Fast Pass for the same range of time. But, you can take your Fast Pass for one attraction, go to another and then come back at the time your Fast Pass ticket says to enjoy.

About the hotels, I always stay outside Disney. At the Howard Johnson Maingate East. It is like at 10 or 15 mints from each Disney park. They have daily shuttle to the parks and everything. The good thing about staying at the Disney's economic hotels is that maybe you could get the complete package with parks tickets, transportation to the parks with Disney shuttles and extra magic hours (somedays you can arrive earlier than the other people and somedays you can stay later). Less people, less lines.

But please, as I always recommend to my friends. Stay looking for prices every single day. It doesn't matter if its boring. Sometimes, they drop the prices just for a few hours. And that's your time to reserve or ask for a modification on your price.

Ask about that before confirming your reservation. If the price drops for the same days and same kind of room at your hotel (can you call to modify the price???)

Hope this helps, and wish you the best life with your wife to be.

You both are going to love Disney. Is a dream, even if you visit more than once.

Don't miss any of the fireworks and closing shows. Is really magical and the perfect moment to tell her how much you love her.

Perhaps you can look into the Swan and Dolphin resort....we got a rate of 149 a night which is the cost of the moderates but for a deluxe hotel (although not Disney owned, great for adults, upscale and lovely grounds, beautiful lobby, awesome pool!) and a free upgrade to a balcony room for joining their guest membership plan (for free). The location is tremendous, walking distance to Epcot, a short ferry ride to MGM and all the ameneties of the Boardwalk. It would make a lovely honeymoon resort if you can get a great rate like we did....the rate was a nurses rate, but it is also available for teachers, and all government workers.....I am not sure if there are other ways to get the great rate but I think it is worth looking into. We stayed at the Dolphin and it was awesome!

Hope it helps....it is worth looking into and doing some research into the rates.

Enjoy the honeymoon planning!
