Holiday Decorations in Disney Resorts

Hi all!

My husband is surprising me this year with a trip to WDW for MVMCP! :xmas: I'm so excited, I just can't wait! I have never been to Disney around the holidays before, so this is really a big deal for me. So - because it's a surprise (which I found out about) I agreed not to push for more details. That means I have no idea which resort I'm staying in! (Frustrating, but fun too.)

Anyway - to get to the point of this post - I want to see all of the greatest holiday decorations around the resorts since I don't know when I'll be able to get back in December again. Which resort has the best decorations? My plan is to plan a meal at the top 3/4 decorated resorts, so I have a great excuse to see them all!

Thanks all!

All the resorts have some decorations. The one I like the best is the Wilderness Lodge. They always make me go WOW. Also, check out the GF, they give away freshly roasted chestnuts. :slurp:

I can't wait for the Holidays. :xmas:

I envy you

Yes, Wilderness Lodge is wonderful, (if you want a great quiet restaurant, check out Artist Point), GF is nice with all the gingerbread. AKL is very nice.

Also check out the Yuletide Tour http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm#yul

Plus beyond that, during the tour you can get additional inside information.

Also check out http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/holiday.htm Some of these events require separate ticket purchase that go fairly fast, so plan ahead.

Good luck, and please report back to us.

Good news in that the Osbourn lights are back this year.

:xmas:

Wilderness Lodge and GF always get rave reviews

The Poly is different, but still good. Since it's right next to the GF, why not see it?

The entire VC/BC/Boardwalk complex is worth checking out as well. They're close to the parks and they're nicely decorated for XMas.

If you can swing it, Coronado isn't bad either. They have a huge gingerbread town over by the Pepper Market, among other things.

Wilderness Lodge and GF are absolutely amazing.

Next would be the entire Epcot Resort area (minus Caribbean Beach--tho the moderates do ahve beautiful decorations that fit their unique themes to a T, they are not nearly as widespread throughout their tremendous acreage.)

The Yacht/Beach and BoardWalk lobbies are beautiful and pack more white lights on wreaths per square inch than anyplace else. They are beautiful, and all places have some type of large gingerbread structure.

Have fun exploring!!

All the resorts have different "theming" for Christmas time. GF and WL are great, but don't forget to check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge as well. The nicer hotels also have houses made of fondant sugar or chocolate or gingerbread which is really awesome to see. Even the value resorts have trees with decorations that fit their surroundings. (If anyone know where they got the lights on the tree at Pop Century I would love to know. I think they are very nice).
