Though while D23 always happens at this time of year it’s not like they have much to introduce unless they are announcing big changes to the stateside parks

Shanghai, Paris and Tokyo are all just progressing on their current expansion, big maybe they may announce what they intend to do with the rest of the HK money but I don’t think they will do that when they just announced arendelle opening

So it kinda falls to plans they have for the stateside parks, and since Disneyland is still dealing with Disneyland forward either this is gonna be a very empty year or we are gonna get a lot for WDW

This isn’t the main D23 Expo, but the much smaller Destination D23 event they have at WDW. Typically, little is announced at this event.

(sorry for the double post)

First ever map of the park that includes World of Frozen as seen from the website of a Japanese travel agency (https://www.knt.co.jp/holiday/sp/disney/hongkong.html)

Coke travel, a Taiwanese travel company also appears to have selected early access dates, this time starting on the 16th

Looks like HKDL is really selling arendelle as a massive “come to HK specifically for this” attraction

The perspective design on these maps is always interesting, the older versions of this type of map that include autopia always made it look larger than entire lands, now arendelle has become the largest single expansion land by footprint space and it looks absolutely tiny here

Same as the equivalent maps in Shanghai that make it looks like a regular hub and spike shaped park when really it’s more like a slightly wonky butterfly

Easily one of the most gorgeous lands ever made. Super surprised by the awesome vista across the lake to the coaster.

Imagineering hit an absolute home run with the land, and with the real mountains in the background, perfection. Chefs kiss.

Let’s hope the rights are well executed.

For a slightly improved FEA and a mine train clone
I mean HK desperately needs another dark ride in fantasyland and while they didn’t have the space for a full 7DMT WOSS is a good addition to the park

It’s not really HK’s fault the plans for the e ticket fell through and now they are kinda stuck in limbo

This will do wonders for the parks reputation, 2 big new rides a whole new land and a massively increased footprint, with this addition I think it’s hard to argue that SDL is still better

Whilst I’ve yet to sample Shanghai personally, HKDL is coming on leaps and bounds to hold its own now. If and when something substantial and worthwhile comes to the Autopia plot I feel it will probe the naysayers wrong.

Attendance might even justify some part of the Village being built; though I still fear the vast majority of guests will either return to the MTR at closing or just go back to their on site hotel

I feel like we circle this topic all the time (I personally don’t mind I love talking about this)

All they would need to do to start is build like a world of Disney, a Starbucks and maybe a restaurant in the north west quadrant and it would be cheap and easy

I’m sure they’ve run the numbers and would do if they think it would be profitable, but it does seem a bit of a no brainer to build even just a phase one like you said.

Did any art or plans ever surface of the proposed original village area? The more I dig into HKDL history the more I’m intrigued (and can’t wait to see for myself)
