Hibachi at Teppan Edo

Since the restaurant is broken up between regular tables and hibachi tables, is it possible to make a reservation for a hibachi table in advance? Or can you only request it the day of your reservation? The Disney reservations rep I spoke with swore up and down you can't reserve an hibachi table in advance and they'll seat you wherever they have availability. True or false?

They are 2 separate restaurants. Teppan is the hibachi style and Tokyo Dining is the one with the bento boxes and sushi, etc. So you need to make sure that you have the right restaurant and making a reservation. You can make reservations for Teppan(the hibachi) but you will be sharing a table with others. Maybe that is what the reservation agent meant. I recommend that you do make reservations since they are both very popular.
