Well I have been working a lot...sorta really busy.

I had some health problems ...believed to have had a miscarriage last month...I did get some emails from a few of you asking where I was...I appreciate the concern! =)

BUT on the good news, I am heading to disney 9/11-9/18!

And get this...I was going to orginally go to CBR BUT I switched to Wilderness lodge.

WHat were some of your experiences like with Wilderness!?

Thanks guys:animwink:

Im glad your ok now and hope you have fun on your trip this september!

As far as the wilderness lodge goes I stayed there last year in the villas. Its very beautiful and rustic feeling and Im sure you will have a lot of fun. Plus it has, in my opinion, the best hidden mickey of them all. If you walk over to the villas and go into the foyer area there is a hidden mickey in a knot in one of the posts sticking out of the wall. I believe its in the first or second post to the right once you enter the foyer. If anyone can describe its location better please do cause i dont know if i did a good job of it.

Anyways have fun!

Sorry to hear about your health issues, but glad to hear you'll be staying at the WL for a week in Sept. We always book a woods view and request a room on the 6th floor, facing MK. The trees have grown, but it's still possible to see some of the MK fireworks if you're in your room at the right time.

We also enjoy watching the wildlife in the early morning - there is a stream along that side and water birds hunt there.

If possible, eat at WCC. Breakfast is especially great and the hijinx are hysterical. Be sure to ask for ketchup ;).

The boat to the MK is fantastic - such a pretty, pleasant ride. We've also taken the boat to the Contemporary and then hopped the monorail from there.

Enjoy the WL - it's my families' favorite WDW resort.

Glad to hear you're heading to WDW and especially glad you're heading to WL, our home away from home.

It's probably our favorite WDW hotel, although we love the Contemporary for the Monorail and the Grand Floridian for the luxury.

But the Wilderness Lodge is just fantastic. Don't be put off by the word rustic in the description. It's completely modern and just looks rustic.

The lobby is overwhelmingly wonderful. All three restaurants are good, as are the two bars. The rooms are not as large as the monorail hotel rooms, but are still very nice.

We love the boat ride over to MK. It's buses everywhere else and you should expect to have to stop some where and pick up other people before getting to your destination, so plan accordingly (sometimes its a monorail hotel, sometimes its Ft. Wilderness. )

The pool is wonderful, you can see the Electric Water Parade from the pool area.

You're in for a great time!

Yeah WL! We will be there 9/6 - 9/16! It's our favorite. We have been lucky enought to stay there our last 10 vacations.

The pool is lots of fun. Don't forget to give the slide a try.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Doesn't really feel like you are in Florida when you are at the Lodge. It really does feel like you are in Yellowstone.

I have never stayed at WL but it is on my list of where I want to stay on future trips. We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in March and if it is anything like that (rustic but luxurious at the same time) then you will love it!

I have stayed at the WL before and will be there again on 7/1!:sohappy: It is a fabulous resort, you will be so close to the MK and monorail, but it feels more like you are in the middle of nowhere! It is rustic and charming and not at all stuffy but very comfortable. Enjoy your trip, glad to hear you are feeling better:wave:

I've stayed in every resort except the Contemporary, and the Wilderness Lodge is my favorite. I have stayed there many times in both the Lodge and the Villas, most recently last September. It's a great hotel to explore. There are lots of out of the way balconies and lounges off of the lobby.

There are two special things that you need to check out while you are there. First, ask at the front desk about the Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt. They will give you a sheet with clues about the locations of all of the Hidden Mickeys in the Wilderness Lodge and Villas. It's a great way to see the resort, and all of the cast members were very helpful with finding them.

Second, ask at the front desk about signing up to be a flag family. It a first come, first served thing, so hopefully there will be an opening. This is something you can only do at the Wilderness Lodge. Early in the morning, you will meet up with a cast member in the lobby. They will then escort you up to the roof where you will get to raise the Wilderness Lodge's flags. I believe there were five flags total (US, Florida state, WDW, 2 Wilderness Lodge flags). You get an amazing view of the property from the roof, and the cast member with us told us a lot of interesting facts about the Wilderness Lodge. As an extra bonus, we were allowed to eat a free continental breakfast on the concierge level after we were finished. This was also helpful since one of the Hidden Mickeys is located on the concierge floor, and it's kind of tricky to get up there otherwise.

Enjoy your vacation, and I hope these tips help! I'll be tearing up the Boardwalk early in September. Hurray for September Disney trips and no crowds!

WL is also our favorite. We just love the look and feel. It's so relaxing, but there's lots to see. Take some time to just walk around. And we love the pool.

My favorite thing about the lodge is taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom. Its so relaxing. The lodge just makes you feel elsewhere, not like your in Florida.

I'm glad that you are well first of all, now Wilderness Lodge. You will certainly enjoy WL. Try to dine at Whispering Canyon Cafe, (my favorate place). Then if you can, the Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner show at Fort Wilderness. You can catch a boat from WL to FW. It's a fun dinner show and you will enjoy it. The WL pool area is awesome along with it's hot tub. It is certainly a beautiful place to stay. Have a great vacation!!

I'm glad that your feeling better, and with an upcoming trip to Disney to look forward to as well!

My husband and I stayed at WL on the villas side for our honeymoon last September and loved it! Often, we would sit in the lobby bar and just play checkers (you have to ask for the pieces...and they were actually missing two!). Another thing we loved doing was having breakfast out on the porch by the stream. They have great rocking chairs out there and surprisingly no one else was ever out there.

It was amazing how much wildlife is around the resort. One night, on our way back to the villas, there was a deer about 2 feet from us.

A lot of fun, very relaxing, and we will definitely stay there again. Enjoy!!

Haven't stayed at WL for a while, but have always loved it. Like previously mentioned, the lobby's fantastic, great food, and lots of places to explore. The pool rules. There's such a great laid back atmosphere there that really makes you feel that you're miles away from anything, but have the MK right at your doorstep. By far one of my favorite resorts.

Glad you're felling better and hope you have a great trip.

Glad to hear you ok now!

WL is great, I loved everything about it. Whilst your there you should look at renting a boat from the marina - great fun. The bike trail to FW looked good too.

When we were there last month we were lucky enough to get room on the 6th floor which overlooked the Magic Kingdom. You couldn't see alot but you could see the top of the castle and the fireworks!

Like everyone else we loved Wilderness Lodge and would stay there again if we get the chance. It was so relaxing to walk into the lobby and hear the music playing after a long day at the parks. Enjoy it!

You're going to love the WL!

We stayed there for the first time in December and are definitely going back in the future! Every morning we had breakfast outside near the pool area and just sitting there listening to the music (which was Xmas music at the time) put you in the best mood.

The proximity to the MK is fantastic. You find yourself taking the boat to and from just about every day, even if it's just to hop the monorail to transfer at the TTC! Also coming back to the resort after a long day at the parks is so relaxing. The rooms are so cozy, smaller than some yes, but very cozy and quiet. We stayed on the first floor (not by choice) and slept like logs! It was so peaceful.

I haven't eaten at any of the restaurants there, with the exception of Roaring Forks. But we are slated to go to Artist Point for our anniversary dinner this October.
