Pre-Trip Here, in this hostile world, my story begins....

***Judy Dench or Jeremy Irons voice over optional

It takes (what feels like), 15,000 years to come up with my next bright idea: planning a trip for my wife and her mom so my wife would catch the Disney vacation bug and want to buy an AP! There was only one small problem, when they visit, I will have to stay behind.

Now, lets move ahead to the present in Atlanta, Georgia, because something is about to happen that will change the course of my future. I was digitally pounding reeds flat (typing on my computer) to create better record keeping plans for their February travels, finances, and unfortunately my own calendar plans which did not include me being at WDW. But it also brought with it the dawn of a great WDW trip in April!

At this point, my wife and MIL had taken over the trip I planned and I would have to stay home, which most of you already understand why. But my wife, who is as clever as a Phoenician came up with a solution! To create and plan a simple, relaxing trip in April to WDW for just us. Remember how easy it was to breeze through my last trip report full of beer pictures and swollen puffy eyes? Thank my wife- she invented this upcoming trip that will allow you to experience a brand new one!

Ok, ok, enough SE dialogue, lol. Lets get to it! As some of you have read in my other PTR, my wife and her mom are visiting in Feb which was a trip that took several changes and lots of waiting for an all clear from the Doctor. Giving away a Disney trip is not an easy thing to do, but they definitely need it and I will get "good husband" credit points for being so generous, hahaha! I was planning on cashing in my credit points to convince my wife to let me buy a 4 wheeler, but as she was planning their trip she asked if it would be ok if she got an AP. My response; Dilly Dilly!!! She was happy and she immediately asked if we could plan a trip in the Spring since it has been appx two yeas since we visited together. Another Dilly Dilly was in order. I was back to digitally pounding reeds flat on my computer and soon after I had trip booked!!

Who: My wife and I

Where: 5 nights at BWV studio room.

The Boardwalk Resorts are are favorites (with AKL a close second). We spend a majority of our time in WS but I have a feeling that we will be in AK a lot this trip to try all the new food and booze offerings. She will get to experience it with her mom soon and that will help with planning our trip once she is more familiar.

You can also find us at Tune In Lounge early in the morning enjoying adult beverages

Another favorite of ours is Crews Cup Lounge. Here is my wife reminding me that I am #1

We have no yet started to plan any ADR's but are it looks like we have rain moving int Atlanta today which is dashing our plans of hitting the Atlanta Beer Fest taking place today. So the new plan is to find a good selection of craft brew, crank up Youtube and the MDE app make some plans this evening!

Updates coming soon. Thanks for following along everyone!

You know I'm in -- wouldn't miss one of your fun trip reports!! :):) By the way, who takes care of your dog when you travel? I'm trying to recall here--is it just one dog now, Akira, who lives at home?

My parents usually. Boo (our Cane Corso) passed away last year and a few months later we took in a male Dutch Shepherd (same breed as Akira). We call him Winnie, aka Cobra. He is quite a hoot. One of the breeders I work with sold him to a man who realized the dog was waaay too much for him to handle and he needed a working home with a family that could handle him, so the breeder had the man contact me:) Of course I started him on personal protection training and he is doing great. It was such a blow when Boo passed and he was our man eating security guard, but Winnie is appx 85 lbs and pure muscle and is learning quickly to protect his momma and I
Here is a photo of Akira and her boyfriend, Winnie (Akira on right of photo, Winnie on left)

Sooooo when in April? If it's the first week, our only option for drinks will be Tambooooo. Totally good with that, but also crossing my fingers for Taphouse.
Last week in April. Taphouse is a go, I repeat.....Taphouse is a go!!!! And you just earned a promotion in the Tambooo Lounge Club for proper spelling. Your stock is rising, young lady.

As with most of our trips, we usually wind up adding an extra day to the start of our trip but at a different resort. We started this tradition a few years ago and we really enjoy it. We mainly do this because the first day of arriving at WDW can go by so quickly depending on what time you arrive, stopping for supplies (if needed) and waiting for your room to be ready (which can sometimes be as late as 4 pm with DVC). Our last stay at BCV we did not get a text for our room until 3:59 pm. By adding an extra day to the beginning of the trip it allows us to not feel as if we had any wasted time once the "official" trip begins on day two. We just have Disney transfer the bags and drive the car to the resort and head off to begin the day. We also enjoy a night at a different resort to start the trip, especially if we can get a resort we have not stayed at before. We are considering GFV, CCV, or YC if I can get an AP discount room. We are excited for the refurbed BWV rooms as they look very nice.

We love the Boardwalk Resorts (YC, BC, BW) the most since we can walk to Epcot and HS (with and adult beverage in hand).

To see the smile that Disney puts on her face is worth every penny we spend on the trip.

For anybody new to one of my trip reports, let me warn you that we enjoy eating and drinking at WDW very, very, much and my reports are mostly booze pics with Disney attractions sprinkled in here and there, lol. We have been visiting as a couple for well over a decade. I proposed at MK in front of the castle and even did a second proposal at Chef Mickeys (those of you who have been around long enough know why I proposed twice,;))... and we are a Disney family through and through!

Just thought Id share a little background of us with a few pics.

For the upcoming trip we are planning some ADR's at Sci Fi, Via Napoli, and Tusker House so far. It is a rainy day here in Atlanta so we are making good use of being indoors and planning some meals and shows. We should have some times set by this evening and Ill update soon. Until then Ill be thinking of seeing my sweet heart with a big smile on her face in April!

I told the story in a PTR from a few years ago. I never wrote and actual TR because I wasnt a member here back when I proposed. HEres the link to the PTR. I think its on page 1 when the story begins

Let me start by saying..... BABY AKIRA. :inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove: I. CAN'T. EVEN.

Now the proposal(s)... how freaking STRESSFUL!!! However, you did good. :p I love both proposals.. I don't even know which one I would choose if given the chance! Lol. So many things that you said reminded me of Dylan preparing for my proposal. I almost ruined it just as many times as your wife almost ruined yours. :hilarious: Good thing you guys love us. :angelic:

Just one more thing... you never posted the pictures!!! I scrolled through all 13 pages lol.
