Getting Henna done at Epcot is my favorite thing to do in the World Showcase. It really makes you feel like you are in Morocco, from the little nook to the smell, it's so neat. I recommend it on a hot day with no rain, you gotta love henna!!!

Hi there!

Henna is basically a temporary tattoo. It's hard for me to describe it. If you ever watching any boxing on cable, you'll usually see someone with an ad on their back. That's usually henna.

Henna tattooing is done with a preperation of a paste like mixture. It is applied either by stencil or can be done free hand simularly to cake decoration, and came from moroco originaly. If you want to know more check out this link. http://www.tattoo-me.com/

Madonna did it for her "Frozen" video I think. It's really pretty! Unless you have no tan at all then I highly recommend it. :D I had no idea they did it in Morocco though. Something to look forward to doing in June now!! I left less than a week ago and I am already dying for the next trip! :)

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Howdy!

Some of my Muslim friends get it done at certain holidays. And for weddings- oh, it's so pretty, the hands and the feet. Very intricate. I just don't have the patience to sit still long enough.

It stains the skin , so it last as long as the skin that had been dyed with it, it go deep in the skin deeper than a dirt stain, but will last for around a week or two if you bathe regulary it all depends

In actuality...it all depends on your body's metabolism and how fast your skin replaces skin cells. I've had two henna pieces done so far. The first was a little tribal band on my shoulder which lasted for nearly three weeks.

A year later I had another henna done that started up by my right eye, went down the side of my face and neck, across my right collar bone, over my should and down to loop around my right bicep. The parts on my face and neck started fading away within a day and a half since the skin isn't as thick there as it is on the shoulder or arm. The last of it to go faded away three weeks later and that was the segment from my shoulder to around my bicep.

And I showered with soap regularly...unlike the wet/soak and stick temporary tattoos, henna does not just wash away with soap and water. :)

i would LOVE to get henna done while i'm there in June (and maybe the friend i'm taking would get it done too...i'll have to ask her about it tomorrow!) anyway, i'm not sure how it would work with me though since i'm so fair complected. i suppose i'd either get it done on my hand or wrist (or both) btw, how do they apply the ink? is it some sort of brush or pen or something? i believe i've seen it done before on tv, but never really paid attention to what they were using to do it with. and also, how much does it cost to get it done at Disney?

I got a cool design done on our honeymoon two years ago. It stayed on for over a week until I got careless about caring for it. In one culture the women get it done for their wedding and I thought it was cool to have it done. They were still doing it last summer and I stopped by and told they lady she had done mine a year ago and it turned out beautifully.

Are they still doing this at the Morrocco Pavillion?

Yes, they are still doing it as far as i know. i was there in Nov. and the sign was still up with the times it was open, etc. i'm really seriously thinking about doing it! do they let you pick which design you want, or do they just improve it themselves?

:lookaroun ummmmmmmmm Still wondering about the $$$$$$????? We saw a booth at the Hotel pool and Downtown Disney when we were there.

Do not know if they were using Henna or not?? It said temporary tatoo's,and the sign said, last up tp 2 weeks soooooo maybe?

Cost was dependent on the choice of design---:)

If you get it done at Epcot, which is the only place on Disney property where you can get Henna, you are looking at a minimum of $15.00 for a Henna Tattoo. The most expensive, I think, is around $60.00, and the average price is about $25.00. They last for about three weeks, if you follow a few simple instructions. I have followed them, and every time a get Henna there, it lasts for the full three weeks.

1. Put an SPF lipbalm (I use Blistex SPF 15) on your Henna tattoo every day, and again before you go in a pool or shower, basically, always have it covered with non-lotion SPF, and basically, don't get it wet.

2. NO LOTION. The lotion eats away at the dye, for some reason.

3. Don't rush the process, (This should be the first rule, although it is really not the most important rule) Leave the Henna paste on as long as possible the first day. Try even, to leave it on through the night. Your tattoo will be darker, and may stay darker longer. But, leave the paste on for at least 2 hours.

Thats about it, have fun!!!

LOVE it!

I got it done on my back
and will be getting the same design done as a permanent tattoo in the future. mine lasted about a month.
I often do henna-mendhi designs for my friends, it is fairly easy :)

Boxers with Henna advertisements- never seen that but that's cool!

Anyone have any pictures of their Henna tatoos?? They probably don't let you get quite as scandalous with where you have it done as you can get at a tatoo parlor, huh??

My daughter had it done on our last trip. She loves it. I will probably be shelling out money for her to have it done again when we go in June.
