Help with FastPass+ and magic bands

We are heading to WDW in early September, everyone is all linked up on My Disney Experience and it says that we need to have our magic bands customized by august 5th. Can we still make fastpass+ selections before we get the magic bands, i think they said we can start on July 6th? I am assuming so, but being our first time with this, kind of curious.

You can start making FP+ reservations 60 days before your check-in date, if you're staying on-site and purchased your room and tickets through Disney, even if you haven't yet customized your Magic Bands.

Yep! I was able to start booking my FP+ on April 2, but my magic bands didn't ship until May 2.

Yes, everything is electronic so you don't need your bands to create your FPs. As long as you have your tickets and resort reservation link you should be good to go 60 days before!
