I have trip booked for 3 adults at Caribbean beach in August, we have a perfered room booked. My question is is should I pay more & upgrade to WL. They have construction at WL there I know which worries me or will we really like CB (only moderate I haven’t stayed at) ..please advice needed….

Here at WL now. The majority of the exterior construction has been completed over the last two years. I have had multiple stays during that time and have not been majorly impacted or inconvenienced by any of it.

Currently the last section of roof on the DVC wing is being power washed and prepped for painting. And one of the boardwalks to the boat dock is being repaired. Both should be done by August. I have a stay booked here in August as well.

I am biased because WL is my favorite resort. Caribbean Beach was a one and done for me. While the Skyliner is a nice convenience, it shuts down during lightning/storms (which can be daily in August) and then buses are the only option. Caribbean is a much larger resort than WL and has several bus stops.

Thank you. I can see they have water view rooms available. , I if swap should I request any area in particular?
Just your personal preference.
First floor rooms have a patio instead of a balcony and may feel “less private” than floors 2-6, but the upside is not having to use the elevators.
Floors 2-5 have open balconies, meaning you can see the view from inside your room and while seated on the outdoor chairs.
Floor 6 has enclosed balconies, meaning you lose half your view while inside, and cannot see anything other than sky when sitting on the outdoor chairs. I dislike those rooms so my only room request is “No enclosed balcony.”

Another vote for WL. Caribbean Beach is my least favorite moderate resort but that is my personal opinion and I think WL would be better suited for an adults only trip. A late evening drink at Geyser Point is one of my favorite ways to end the day.

I think the above posters have covered things well. CB is my favorite moderate, but the addition of the Skyliner is actually not a positive. As mentioned above, the Skyliner shuts down during storms, pretty much every day in the summer. And at least at other Epcot resorts, it takes time for them to get buses headed to Epcot or the Studios when that happens. I have not stayed at CB since Skyliner opened, but the problem with the whole Epcot area resort area is they rely too much on Skyliner and boats, Both of which shut down during storms, and I know it took an hour for buses to start running to Yacht Club during a storm.

Wilderness Lodge, on the other hand, is my personal favorite across the board. I think you will be happier at the Lodge, though it is admittedly more expensive.

This is dependent on what you're looking for.

Wilderness Lodge has boat transportation to MK in addition to buses. You also get the extended hours benefit because it's a deluxe resort. But you otherwise are stuck with buses.

Caribbean Beach has the Skyliner, which gets you easily to Epcot and DHS. A lot of people request a building near Riviera and use that station and their buses, though, because that resort is MASSIVE. Amenities are closer at Wilderness Lodge.

I have stayed at resorts during construction, and it just depends on where they are in construction. Sometimes it's annoying; other times, it's not at all bothersome.

I usually stay at Pop Century or a splurge for a deluxe. Personal preference. I prefer the ones in the Epcot resort area (Yacht/Beach and Boardwalk), Contemporary, or Polynesian. The only other deluxe I consider is Animal Kingdom Lodge because it's super relaxing, but transportation is HORRIBLE from that resort, and I like avoiding busses where I can.

One other thing: if anyone has an ECV, the Skyliner is far and away the easiest transportation mode. Pull in, park, done. Buses are a pain. Putting that out there just in case.
