Speaking of Celebration, from November 21st to December 4th, a movie theater chain down here will include "The Band Concert" before every showing of every movie! :sohappy: Cool, huh?

MICKEY'S 75TH
- Disney chairman and CEO Michael Eisner was to join the company's animators and the actors who voice its characters at Walt Disney World on Tuesday.
- Seventy-five 6-foot tall, 700-pound statues of the famous mouse were to be unveiled.
- The U.S. Postal Service will start a stamp program next year featuring Disney characters, starting with Mickey.
There is also a photo of the statues (ones Elton John designed!) that will be unveiled at WDW! I will put the url in here, since I have trouble with links :lookaroun

It is bittersweet today, to think that we are marking the beginning of sound animation and Mickey Mouse, just as the drawing arts of traditional animation seem most at risk...
But, anyway... the coolest thing for me today was that I wore my Mickey Mouse tie to work today before I even remembered!!!! I was reminded when the radio said it on the news!!! CBS News, even!

Actually, it's not Pete's birthday today. He appeared in a number of Walt's Alice commedies and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons before he became Mickey's foil.
