Halloween Horror Nights: Islands of Fear

I noticed on the website that a couple attractions (like Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges) are only running on "peak nights". What's that all about? Are they trying to cut costs?

I don't want to pay for admission then get there and not be able to ride Hulk or Dueling Dragons at night. I've always wanted to ride a coaster at night!

Well, let's put it this way, how many people are going to want to get soaking wet on Bluto at night? I can actually see the logic in this one, even though I don't agree with it. The Cat in the Hat is an interesting closure though. Maybe they don't think the expected turn out will be all that interested in it.

On the subject of the coasters though, Universal really doesn't have much of a choice in the matter. Those damn neighbors are the reason the coasters are running on limited hours (which BTW, they close at 11PM on weekdays and midnights on weekends).

I'm going!!! :D :D :D

Its my first Halloween event at a park (although I might be going to Halloweekends at Cedar Point beforehand).

IOA is my favorite park and I can't wait!

That's a good point. Still, Id think people would go on it at night. Splash Mountain always gets a crowd at E-Ride nights (of course, from what there is to choose from at MK...), although you usually dont get very wet on Spash (and from the smell of the water on the ride, I thank Disney for this :) ). I hear you get pretty soaked on Bluto, something I might not want on a cold night!

Being that it is a seperate ticket event, I doubt you will be able to do the Front Line entry thing. When I went for Rock the Universe at the Studios they didn't have Universal Express going, which entitles the same thing... so I dont think Universal gives the advantage with seperate tciket events...

I am so curious about some of the effects in the houses, and I know that there are people on this board who know about some of them. Specifically, I wanted to know how they are going to pull off the Carnage effect, you know how the stuff on him is constantly moving? Or better yet, are they even going to try an effect on him? I hope so, that would look so great...

FINE, don't leak any neat info out. I'll just sit here and wonder if they are still doing the effects that they used to do with no concrete answers. I guess I'll know when if I jump out of my skin when I go...

Sorry Merlin, but we don't know any of the neat effects yet. I won't know any until next Friday (27th) when I go for my rehearsal and I will still only know what is going on in ScreamHouse. Tiggerman would be the one to help with Maximum Carnage, and he isn't going to be in there until either opening night or the night before. We are just as in the dark as you are.

It's hard as hell to find out anything about Maximum Carnage. The only real info I have heard through the grapevine is that, "This house is being built from the ground up, does that let you know how good it will turn out?" And on their website Island Under Seige does not have any preview photo on it's page like the other islands. Boo-Ville is also absent.

Yeah, with Boo-ville I am noticing that all of the promotional stuff say that there are only four 'Islands of Fear'. This means that one of the islands isn't included. If you check the screensaver that you can download from the official site, the one that isn't included is, you guessed it, Boo-ville.

Looks like Widow Suess still holds stroke.....
