My does the time fly!
Almost ten years after my first MVMCP, I will be doing my first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - EVER! Plus this'll be my sixth year of doing resort hopping on Halloween at WDW, having first done it in 2020 (now I wish I had taken off from work in 2019 to resort hop!
) Last year, I ended up resort hopping only to end up with a "base-on-balls" earlier than expected, plus I only met one character (Chip @ FW) and didn't spend the night. Whereas 2024 I stayed 1 night at the Contemporary, resort hopped on Halloween and did MK & Epcot the next day (met three characters (Chip, Dale, Pluto) on Halloween and 1 the next day (Wendell), and 2023 I met four characters on Halloween (Figment, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto - the latter three were for Character Caravan) and spent 1 night at the Beach Club. I had a bad luck streak 3 years in a row too - 2020, 2021, and 2022 - where I had met NO CHARACTERS (I partially blame COVID for that matter).
This year, I will be doing 3 days and 2 nights at Disney's Wilderness Lodge from October 29-31 with me doing MNSSHP on 10/29! Then on October 30 and 31 I will be resort hopping and doing parks on an adhoc basis (ball 4).
So here's the game plan:
October 29, 2026
This will be travel day, and my intent is to travel out late morning/early afternoon via my usual SunRail/Lynx routing to the TTC and then out to Wilderness Lodge via MK. This'll give me time to grab lunch at Rita's or at Wilderness Lodge, plus time to check-in and change from my street clothes into my costume - I'm going as Robin Hood for that matter:
And my main priorities here will be the Pooh gang (I need Eeyore and Piglet for that matter), and attractions wise will most likely focus on Fantasyland and Tomorrowland (may do LLSP for 7DMT or Tron pre-party). Will likely see Fireworks from Train Station Balcony and see 2nd BTY parade and last Hocus Pocus of the night.
October 30-31
These two days will be spent RESORT HOPPING - in a character hunt of course. Just like the past 3 years, it'll be a baseball-like game of sorts (I was inspired by Jet Lag: The Game to do this), and the game rules are as follows:

These two days will be spent RESORT HOPPING - in a character hunt of course. Just like the past 3 years, it'll be a baseball-like game of sorts (I was inspired by Jet Lag: The Game to do this), and the game rules are as follows:
- Strikes - If a character kisses you, or licks my face. = 1 strike per set
- 1 set = 1 strike. More than one character on the same set will not count as an additional strike.
- Double & Triple Whammies Possible with more than one character on the same set. These do not incur additional strikes.
- 3 Strikes = You’re Out and the round ends. No more characters or resort hopping.
- These also count at parks
- Strike counter resets at the end of the round
- Balls - no character meet and greets at resort hotels = 1 ball per hotel
- You will accumulate a ball if:
- Within 15-minutes of a scheduled start time for the posted character meet and greets of a resort hotel, characters do not show up (are considered no-show), or...
- After no character interactions within 20 minutes of arriving at any resort hotel where meet times are random and not posted.
- The timer freezes automatically when characters are sighted, or if the “Caravanning ‘Round the World” RV is sighted at the resort hotel.
- 4 Balls = Hop to Park closest to resort area, draw card for challenge
- If you fail to complete a challenge or simply can’t do it, you have option to veto it
- Veto = 10 Minute Jail Period
- No attractions, no leaving the park, must stay in place for that time
- Must draw again after 10 minutes
- Some cards are labeled as “curse” cards instead
- If you fail to complete a challenge or simply can’t do it, you have option to veto it
- Ball counter resets after doing a challenge and/or triggering a curse
- Some curse cards will require you to draw another card, others will require you to go to your next resort, others will have requirements to complete before advancing
- Ball counter resets when a round ends
- You will accumulate a ball if:
- Use Character Locator and Social Media (Facebook, IG, X, Bsky, Disney Character Spotters Discord group) to confirm meet information
- Mercy Rule Option
- 4 balls at 0.5 hours prior to latest park close is considered mercy clause
- 4 balls for a Magic Kingdom resort after 5pm is also considered a mercy clause ON 10/31 ONLY - when this mercy rule is used, base on balls would be from those resorts to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom, decided by the roll of a wheel dependent on those three park’s hours.
- Rare Characters counted in total as follows
- 1 - Single
- 2 - Double
- 3 - Triple
- 4 or more - GRAND SLAM
- For rare characters: Total added by X + (1 * Y) - whereupon X is how many rare characters I've met thus far in the round, and Y is how many are featured in the set. For example 0 + (1 * 2) = Double; 2 + (1 * 1) = Triple, etc.
- Foul Ball
- If they are doing the character caravan and you same set at another resort, that counts as a “Foul Ball”
- This doesn’t count as a strike or ball in any case
