Halloween activities outside the parks?

Hi, my children (aged between 5 and 9) are disappointed we'll be missing Halloween this year as we fly home on 31st (landing on 1st). We are going to Disney but I think the Halloween party in Magic Kingdom is too expensive for 5 of us. We are not planning on going to Universal, Sea World or Busch Gardens. Are there any Halloween activities going on elsewhere in the week leading up to Halloween? Really just want somewhere they can dress up, trick or treat and do maybe a few low key activities. Needs to be not too far a drive from Disney. Thank you!

There are plenty of cities around Orlando that are having their own celebrations. Fairs, 5k runs, food & entertainment and all sorts of things if you check around.
