Rumor Hall of Presidents Replaced by Muppets American History Show???

I just have this feeling that come next summer Kermit, Piggy and the gang will be moving in. But we shall see. Even if it is in tandem with the presidents. It would certainly make the attraction more frequently visited by all park guests.

I think Disney wants to get rid of all theater attractions and replace them with queued attractions that require LL, or simply close theater attractions to save on air conditioning costs.

Its only a matter of time CoP will destroyed and/or closed.
They just redid the Country Bears though, so clearly they see some value in them. Not for nothing but as much as my buddy likes to say his campaign saved them (which I think it had some impact but wasn’t the deciding factor), I think if the CBJ wasn’t seen as something profitable it’d be gone.

It sucks because AA shows are super necessary for these parks. If everything was a big E ticket thrill ride then you’d be better off going to a Six Flags for much cheaper.

I don't think it's 50% of the public that doesn't want to visit. It's probably more like 5% at the very most.

Keep in mind, this is a group that is so sensitive and fragile that the idea of even being in the same room as a robotic likeness of a POTUS that they don't like is enough to keep them away from a chance to get off their feet and cool off. I don't have data on it obviously, but my gut tells me this is a vanishingly small number of people.
The overwhelming majority of MK visitors each day don’t go in there at all. Some because they don’t want to think about politics on vacation. Some because they are sick of the behavior of other guests. Most of them though skip it because it is a boring and low rated attraction that few people care about.

I happen to enjoy it, or did before people lost the ability to not scream at the stage, but if we are being honest, people who will be upset when this gets replaced are a tiny minority.

You telling me there are more fans of a Headless Horseman in a parade than there are of the Muppets!?

Don’t get me wrong, I think Sleepy Hollow is a better fit, but I can’t believe HH sells more merch than Muppets.
I literally said “is it more” implying a question. So no, I am not telling you “it’s more.”

I would bet Disney’s Villains franchise does do better than Muppets, and Disney will be watching how the Universal Monsters thing works out at Epic, and Disney will look how they can get more out of their Villains, and HH could be identified as one that is underutilized. They have used him on ornaments, pins and Food & Beverage.

I was wondering how they'll do the roll call now... but upon watching it again on youtube and seeing how they introduce the current president, I don't think they need to change anything. Format works fine with announcing Trump in the line up and then having him do the speech.

For our other president that served non-consecutive terms, Grover Cleveland... I want to learn more about him...

About Grover Cleveland- "He loved food and hated exercise—he once said "Bodily movement alone . . . is among the dreary and unsatisfying things of life""

Heh.

Maybe only 5% don’t want to visit for political reasons, but you can’t tell me that 95% of MK guests experience the Hall of Presidents.
95% don't ride Space Mountain, BTM or Tron either because a significant percentage don't like roller coasters. Despite many visits as a kid, I didn't ride SM until grad night and only rode BTM once before then because my mom didn't like roller coasters.

However, we did see HoP many times. My mom was an active member of the New York Democratic party (which might surprise people who have followed my postings especially during COVID) and those visits were all during Reagan and GHW Bush but she didn't become insane or not want her kids to experience the attraction.

The HoP has nothing to do with politics it represents our history of the transition of leadership in a peaceful manner --something many countries don't have. Again if you are so fragile and it bothers you don't go ---I love the HoP
That’s all good and well but it’s in a huge theater in their flagship park at WDW and it’s unpopular. Stitch was like that and we know what happened.

I would agree our country has made a peaceful transition of power since George Washington except one of our darkest days in late 2020-Jan 2021 which I hope in my lifetime will never happen again. Sadly the human attention span averages 8 seconds. Goldfish fare better.
My goldfish held a Presidential election again this week but when I asked them who they elected, unfortunately, they had forgotten.

We will try again next week. It’s like trying to elect a Speaker of the House. I do expect a more peaceful transition of power than I saw with my betta fish…and don’t even get me started on the time my mantises elected their first female president…everyone lost their heads.

ETR and CBJ both have marketable characters Disney owns, and technically are IPs in themselves. They might time to time prop up the rides with infusing their mainline IPs, but as long as the interest is there in them and they can market both they have incentive to have them stick around.

COP is a project Walt worked through in its entirety and the only existence left of it, so it gains a legacy status that would be hard to convince the company to remove.

Those three will stick around in some iteration for a long while. HOP doesn't have this, or really anything in the list of reasons Disney would want to keep any attraction. The closest is it's the only instance of this attraction, Walt wanted to see this happen someday, and that it was opening day. Don't think that's enough to overcome the incentives Disney sees in removing this.

One did say several years ago in front of an audience in Nevada “ I love the poorly educated “.

Who actually screams at the stage and who are they screaming at?
