A couple of thoughts.
I think he mentioned the size of the building to make it understood that this is something bigger than Slinky Dog Dash. (Which I thoroughly enjoy) He wanted to emphasize that this is intended to be an E ticket ride. (Can I still use E ticket or is that considered passé here)
They keep referring to this as a 'gravity building'. That leaves me to believe that this will not be like Gringotts in that we won't pause for a projection scene. I keep thinking it will be more like Rockin' Roller Coaster in that you get one initial energy input and then coast the rest of the way. But then again, I am just guessing.
I mean, is this really all that groundbreaking? Isn’t it Gringotts 2, basically?
The writer of that article seemed very disjointed. It's like they skipped back and forth between topics with very little transition - making the info bleed together.https://www.tbo.com/theme-parks/dis...-of-galaxy-coaster-high-tech-robots-20181114/
Chapek, who analysts have annointed as a likely successor to Disney Chairman Bob Iger, drew oohs and aahs from the crowd when he showed off the next level of animatronics coming to Star Wars land at Hollywood Studios in 2019. He called it the most expressive and life-like ever built, with a greater range of motion. He then showed a video of what he called Stuntronics, which looked like robots who can do a back flip and soar through the air like Iron Man. Some of those characters will be put to work in the new hotel coming to Orlando that will make guests feel like they have entered a spaceship, he said

Disney is embiggening the theme park experience!
Grimgotts wasn't all rollercoaster. It stopped you to watch a scene. Gringolts was the stereotypical SCREENZ! ride of Universal. GotG is supposed to be all coaster once you launch, but, there will be controlled turns so you face certain scenes. So, rather than whizzing by a scene on your right, the vehicle will turn and you strafe it, and then maybe ride backwards for a while. So, it's in the same family as Greenvolts, but with a noticeable difference.
They're both rotating vehicles on a roller coaster track. Why do the ride vehicles remind me a lot of the ones from JII with Figment?
I am thinking just based on the size of the building, the height and discussion on many helix this should be quite different from Gringotts. I am foreseeing less screens and story telling during the actual ride but definitely more movement and physical sensation.I really hope so. If this turns out to be a bigger version of Gringotts, just with a different IP, this will be a lot of hype and
a lot of disappointment.
Journey into the Galaxy with Star LordThey're both rotating vehicles on a roller coaster track.
And the re-do in five years will be called Journey into Your Galaxy with Star-Lord*.Journey into the Galaxy with Star Lord
Personally, I'm looking forward to some gestpepper.I'm looking forward to the GotG ride but I think I may be even more excited about the queue potential - from the looks of it, this could be really immersive, similar to Space Mountain. SM has held up so well over time not because of the actual ride itself but from the overall holistic experience. I'm hoping GotG will have that same gestalt effect.
Apologies if this has been mentioned, could this be similar to crushes coaster?
At Disney, its all about the gest experiencePersonally, I'm looking forward to some gestpepper.
