Unknown at this pointI apologize if this has been addressed, do we expect a Memorial Day weekend opening (early summer) or like a late August (late summer) opening? I feel like either Memorial Day or right before 4th of July makes the most sense

How do they compare to nighttime installations?Everybody loves Disney themed land areas
Agree. I think from the side it looks decent and the styling appears to give a good impression. My biggest issue keeps being when I see pictures head on. It is just so bulky and clunky, especially in comparison to the angles of the ship on top. The other problem with it looking bad head on is that that is wear one should be looking to take in the entire look of the pavilion. As you walk toward the pavilion that is what will be the look you see.It was always going to be a chunky column once covered. Think it will work better from angles than others.
I'm not sure why Imagineers couldn't figured out to break the law of physics.I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make a bad thing look worse.
He’s structural engineer. No breaking the laws of physics required as has been shown several times already with photos of existing work.I'm not sure why Imagineers couldn't figured out to break the law of physics.
about as good as daytime activations! How do they compare to nighttime installations?

Some of you guys wanted to have it hang there in midair all day I guess. Maybe they should attached a series of Boba Fett's jetpacks.

Yes, but I think that you should generally give a lot of thought to your potentially most-photographed angle, which is probably head-on in this case. I also personally think that the center will be lighted based on the concept art, so it may have some added pizzazz at night, but I wish they were giving equal consideration to daytime views in EPCOT. The entire Xandar pavilion seems like it might be another case where it’s much more visually lively in the evening. As for people complaining about angles as is so often here: (Tron)
We don't see things as still shots most of the time.
We're moving, walking, approaching and coming around things.
We don't just stand at designated angles, well... unless we're taking pics.
So then what are they putting down the split thing in the middle? Surely their is some other piece that goes there.
Mike posted a few more pictures which shows the middle now meeting -

Agreed. From the front, the column is kind of chunky, but the light grey strip down the middle helps diffuse that a bit. And the side view actually looks great. The curved design is very sleek.Looks great!
It's cool to see how the angles of the cladding, along with the graphics can reduce the visual mass of the support, even though they actually add to it dimensionally.
Automotive designers use tricks like this to reduce visual mass.
The Ford electric "Mustang" Mach-E uses tricks like this in the roofline and rocker panels.
Rookie move on my part, I thought they were installations not activations. It will never happen again.about as good as daytime activations!
