Great Hotels on Travel Channel

So far, I have seen episodes on Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. Today, I am recording one on the Yacht and Beach Club. Has anyone ever seen an episode on any of the moderate resorts, or do they only feature the Deluxe Resorts and Vacation Club resorts? I would really like to see one on the Port Orleans ones, but I am afraid I am out of luck, since they aren't deluxe resorts.:(

I believe that Great Hotels has only done deluxe hotels. Most of them are several years old. In general, the show only does deluxe type accomidations.

That's correct. I wish they would do all the hotels, but I don't think "Great Hotels" has filmed a new hotel in a long time. In fact, all of the shows on the travel channel about WDW are old. I would love to see some new shows.

They should start doing more Disney resort on that show. She also did a holiday episode on the Travel Channel from Disney. But that is old too.

I wish they would, as well. I would really love to see a special on the resort we plan to stay at next year.

btw, does anyone else besides me think that the chick that hosts that show is kinda hot? :D

I love that show - Samantha is so funny and the resorts she visits are incredible. We tape all of the episodes of the hotels/resorts we've visited so we have a sort of 'reminder' of our trips since she does such a good job showing the pools, rooms, restaurants, etc.

I don't think they're doing that show any longer, though - although I wish they would. She's moved on to Passport to Europe now, I believe.

I think you're right - I haven't seen anything new on Disney properties in quite a while. I sent an email to the folks at Travel Channel about new shows and all they could give me was some gobbledeegook about not having control over program submissions. My wife and I really enjoy watching Sam any time she is on. She even makes Europe seem enjoyable :lol:.

Actually, Travel Channel also did an hour long show on Disney Resorts, called "Disney's Great Escapes". It was a re-hash of the Great Hotel clips (with Samantha edited out) , with a clips of Pop Century, Saratoga Springs, and Disney Cruise Line added. (in the order - GF, AK, YCBC, WL, Pop, SS, GCali, DCL)
