The issue is that water bridge. As built it’s not safe for guests to walk through that tunnel but it would be cost prohibitive to widen it with the mere benefit that guests can walk TTC to Contemporary. There’s not much demand for that route until they build another resort between the TTC and the contemporary.

it's not safe to walk through how? A zillion cars pass through it daily and running run through it for multiple runDisney races.

There is one "sidewalk" under the bridge and it's on the Contemporary side of the road. If there was going to be a walkway, they probably would prefer to have it on the lagoon side of the road. Currently, they would have to have pedestrians cross the road twice to get to the MK. Plus, there isn't any kind of safty barrier currently, Obviously, they could add it, but it would take even more walking space away.

Um... actually....

It's not a lagoon.

:p

The map says Seven Seas Lagoon on the west side where the "sidewalk" goes under the water bridge, and Bay Lake on the east side where the Contemporary is. It would only be a short distance from where the walk ends on the north side of the water bridge to the walk that serves the bus stops and they could parallel the monorail line from the south end to the TTC.

A map can call it a crumpet, and it would still be a lake and not an actual crumpet.

SSL seems to meet the Meriam-Webster definitions of a lagoon. I could be wrong now, but I don't think so.

Definition of lagoon

1 : a shallow sound, channel, or pond near or communicating with a larger body of water

2 : a shallow artificial pool or pond (as for the processing of sewage or storage of a liquid)
