Don't really see how this is good publicity for anyone. And as someone who has been snowed in for 3 days still waiting for plows to come, I don't find the story amusing.

Uh, well it isn't for the governors but for WDW to be in headlines it is for them?

Sorry you've been snowed in for 3 days but this isn't about you personally. I just thought it was strange to have 2 similar stories in the news about people going to WDW when they shouldn't be.

Why "shouldn't" they be at WDW?

For the Governor of Florida, he's touring his State and WDW is in it. It's not a stretch.

For the Governor of NJ, he's entitled to a vacation. It's not like he would personally be driving the plows to clear the snow. He has staff and a chain of command that are perfectly capable of dealing with issues that arise while he's gone and in the worst-case scenario, he can be reached to make any necessary decisions.

Being elected to public office shouldn't be a prison sentence.

False. They've proven themselves to be anything but capable.

And the issue is that both the Gov and Lt.Gov are out of state at the same time. The Lt.Gov position was created specifically to run things when the Gov is gone.

So complain that they are both out of State at the same time, not that the Governor is in WDW. "There was a scheduling conflict", it happens.

How dare you come into this thread and start spreading your rationality and logic. Only reactionary, angry drivel will do in here. For God's sake, this is the internet! Things are black and white, good and bad, acceptable or unacceptable. The complex situations and ideas of human governance can and should be summed in a few angry words to fit on a forum post!

For shame, MontyMon. For shame.

Amen.

Huffington Post ??

Consider the source........

Exactly what I was thinking. HP has an agenda, just like the rest of the media, so they're going to spin the story to suit their editorial guidelines.

All picking it up from the Huffington Post....

A complete non-story......same as the Obama haters complaining when Obama takes vacations, and Bush haters when Bush took vacations before him.

Now it's Christie and Rick Scott haters having their go at it......

It's ALL political

Remember guys, we aren't here for politics, so let's not let it get out of control and locked.

This was not about politics. It was about Walt Disney world in the news with 2 similar stories that I thought people would find funny.

Mods can close since this is becoming such an issue with some.

Everything gets ruined once politics play a role!
:hurl:

On the other hand, company inside politics & government public politics is what controls a heck of alot of things!

But of course, the Huffington Post didnt report that Barry is on Hawaii, while DC is getting snowed on and our economy is in the hole... still... Maybe if he were staying at Aulani, then it would be good news for Huff.... :brick: Or is it just Republicans that shouldnt be traveling with their families???
