For the Guardians VQ you can turn up any time at all. The longest I’ve heard of was about 8 hours after the BG was called, but 3-4 hours is pretty commonly reported.

And even since Tron opened, when some thought they might get stricter with GotG (to avoid confusion amongst guests) that didn’t happen.

As long as you have valid park admission and an EPCOT reservation, you can be anywhere.

We got an early boarding group, around 10am, we didn't actually hit up the ride until about 6pm. The lights when we tapped in did flash red and the CM did mention we were late and laughed about it and waved us through.

One time I had Boarding Group 1 & didn't show up until 11am but still got on. They're super lenient with this ride. It seems like it's a huge people eater, if this thing didn't have two pre-shows it'd be even faster.
