Never saw this show because I was bitter that it replaced what I (and seems many of you) felt was an already good show. It was such a good lunch spot. My family and I would always try to see it.

Does anyone know why the original show was replaced? It seemed it was always packed when I went (and selling lots and lots of food, I might add). Did attendance decline in its last few years?

Anyway, maybe this is a sign that they'll reinstate the original show...may be doubtful, but I can dream. :)

Finally a place to house the new and PERMANENT e-ticket adventure….

THE LADDER…..

It will be available for fastpass and the ride will last over 45 seconds. It will feature a 70 degree climb to its plateau. Followed a moment of hesitation before you plummet 7 feet back to the ground safely.
There is a hight restriction of 36 inches and those who have a fear of heights and superstition need not ride. There will be the infamous baby swap just on the other side of the attraction :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I dont remember this. Where was it?

Frontierland. It replaced the Diamond Horseshoe Revue.

I never saw it or the original. When I was a kid we walked in there once and it was packed and we walked out. Never again did we go in.

took video twice of the new show

I was able to get it video's with two different performers.

I wish I had a way to show everyone without using bandwidth.

Maybe Steve with WDW magic will add them to his site.

I am sure I sent both of the versions to him.

As most of you have said, I never saw this show, and I think that if I did, I probably wouldn't have liked it.... :p

I wish they would bring back the Diamond Horseshoe, at least they served food, and the show in itself was very good.

Bring back the original show with Sam the Bartender, his lads and Lilly and the girls. That was a great show. I have it on tape. Think I may have to #Disney-Central it one of these days.

Rob - do you know if the performers will be reasigned to another show or is it bad news for them?

Don't go back, move forward . . . to the past! This is FRONTIERLAND, after all! The Diamond Horseshoe was not all that great to the majority of park guests, and there was a reason it was replaced. But moving forward, and staying true to the theme of the American Frontier, what does that area of the park need to give it a boost? Certainly not thrills, since two of the three mountains are right down the street and around the corner.

** puts on thinking cap **

First off, one of the big problems with Diamond Horseshoe was that it was such a limited capacity attraction. I remember that you were supposed to check in at the beginning of your day for reservations. Do away with that requirement and put something in that can turn its capacity two or three times per hour for as long as the park is open.

IDEA! How about a new show that seasts guests upstairs and downstairs in a circle around the existing structure. In the middle, place an interactive 4D projection screen from floor to ceiling, visible from any seat with clips from Disney film and television past and present. Zorro, Davy Crockett, Pecos Bill, Home on the Range, anything ever Western themed can be included. Make the show interactive, with trivia questions where guests can vote on answers by pushing buttons on tables or chairs, then showing by percentage the right and wrong answers, with maybe even a prize for the high scorer(s), maybe a Magic Kingdom Sherriff's badge.

That's my suggestion, for better or worse!

Interesting idea. I like the emphasis on the "classics". With the apparent success of channels like TvLand and Nick at Nite, I've always wondered why disney hasn't created a Disney classics channel. I grew up waiting for the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights. Tinkerbell over the castle is my first memory of color television.

I know there would not be any plans for anything like my proposal. I just offered that up as an example of trying to bring fresh ideas to Frontierland, rather than (1) leave areas empty or (2) fall back on ideas that needed replacing to begin with.

I would love to see the Walt Disney World Imagineers and park leadership do something fresh with that building. Perhaps a newly created character unique to the Magic Kingdom, around whom an entertainment venue or attraction could be based (complete with gift shop selling WDW exclusive plush figures and commemorative pins, magnets, tee shirts and coffee mugs? ).

It is still a saloon in Frontierland, a time and place that is defined in "history" .. even the Hollywood/Disney version. It should have a saloon show in it, period.

The Diamond Horseshoe or something like it should return. No characters. Just fun, Western medicine-show stuff that is a valuable part of our American heritage and hard to find. It is a lot of fun, and goes very well there. And still appeals to families (young and old alike) when done well -- see Woody's Roundup for proof.

I say, contract Riders in the Sky (the real Western roadshow group that performs "Woody's Roundup" among other, real Western stuff) to produce a series of new "saloon" shows (four different short shows, that rotate throughout the day) to update the "Diamond Horseshoe."

We thought the show was corny and cute. My kids enjoyed dancing with the characters. Certainly not something to plan around but still a good reason to come inside. If taken at face value, it was fun.

Good idea. The "Diamond Horseshoe, Under New Management". A very creative concept.

Will the DIAMOND HORESHOE BE BACK??

If so, GREAT NEWS!! Can't stand Goofy's Jamboree.

But Budget Cuts would INCREASE for Horseshoe. . . :( . . . thus, only food service??

worse....

Character meets from what I've been told. I hope I was misinformed.

off topic, I saw the show today... cute, but it's of no lasting value. It would've been better with a live band.
