Me,my gf, and 8 others are going to disney in 5 weeks time.
For six of the ten going its their first time.
Me and my gf were thinking that it would be a great idea for us to give the kids goody bags on the way to the airport with some disney stuff in.
However seeing as they're all different ages we havent got a clue what to put in them.
They are 8,14,16, and two of them are 17.
I was hoping coz all you guys have helped me with many things before you could all give me some ideas as what to put in the goody bags.
Oh we are from the uk so it might be a bit harder to find certain things.

I would start with some candy. Maybe you can order some from Paris if you can't find it local. Maybe even ears with their names on it.

Are you using birthday party sized bags or something bigger? Also what do you think you would like to spend?

I only ask because I am doing it to and found some cute things. But I think mine will stay birthday party size. I am doing it for 3,10,18,20,and 26 year olds :ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Gum and lollipops are great for the flight!! I found mini coloring books with Disney themes at my local party store. I also bought alot of glow necklaces and bracelets off Oriental Trading ( I don't know if they ship to UK ) that way I can save money on the over priced ones in Epcot. Also check Ebay!

One of the best tips that I read on this board was to buy the glow necklaces and stuff before our trip. Dollar type stores also carry them and craft stores. We bought a bagful last year on clearance for 10 cents each. Not really sure about what stores to look in the UK though.

I got snap lights and glow sticks for the nightime parades before we went to Disney. I'm from the UK too and I got asked where I got them from by loads of people. I actually got the ones that you can connect together from Stationary Box, you get about 25 for something like £1.99 and you can wrap them round your arms or connect them together to make a necklace and they come in different colours. Wilkinsons Home and Garden do the snap sticks, or they did last time I was in there, for about £1.99 each, but I've also seen them in places like Birthdays, the card shop but they're a bit more expensive in there.

They have a book called kid's guide to the magic on Tim Foster's website www.guidetothemagic.com which is great for all ages. every day they can mark what they have done and seen......i bought it for my kids and even though they can't write, i would ask them the questions, but also they would look through it the night before or the morning and it would give the kids games to do (like look for every color mono rail and then check off which ones they saw and which ones they rode in. )....very cute book. even if you just got one of them to share - - there is enough space to write what they each thought every day of their trip and after every attraction.

Having done lots of goodie-bags for Disney here are my must haves.

For the kids:
- a small figure or plush (10cm or less is ideal for being able to stick it in a pocket or backpack) of their favorite character is always a big hit; you can normally find them at clearance centers.
- any Disney book or journal with blank pages they can use for an autograph collection. Just remember to only get one autograph per two page spread so you can paste a picture on the other page.
- disposable camera so they can take their own pictures without killing the nice camera.

For the adults:
- one of those $1 scanning radios. Wonderful for long lines with bad music loops and bus rides.
- plastic or vinyl wallet with zipper just for Disney stuff. Only take the stuff you need to the park (ID, tickets, 1 credit card and money), you don't need your whole wallet/purse. And make sure it's water resistant/proof!
- lots and lost of single wrapped hard candy!

For everyone:
- Postcards! As many as you can find before you go! Put your little adventures on them, get autographs on them, have CMs stamp them, let the kids draw pictures on them and whatever else you can think of. On your last day there get some stamps and put a few in every mailbox. (I've even left a few stamped with CMs and asked them to mail them a week or so after you leave.) It's a real treat to get the post cards once your home.

I'd start with some fried fish.....that'd be pretty good........you also may want to add some fresh blue cheese in the bag....lots of people like cheese.....

.....seriously, though.....the disposable camera idea above was a great one....I'd also consider INDIVIDUALLY wrapped candies (non-Disney) as filler.....bulk bags tend to be easily spilled and can be LOUD depending on your surroundings when opened/used....

As you have 5 kids, you could get them each a shirt with ONE letter/symbol on it like I (heart) WDW or something with 5 (or 10) letters...I know kids can be wierded out by shirts/appearance, but it'd be fun for pics....

my 2 cents....

Anything that will travel well (ie: no chocolate) things like hard candy and gum. When flying, gum is always a good idea to keep your ears from popping during takeoff and landing. The glow sticks mentioned by other posters are a nice idea, you can usually find them at a dollar store here in the States. Another thing I've seen over here has been mini travel games like magnetic checkers. You can also never lose with a few decks of playing cards!

You could make some of your own little "hidden mickey" guides or trivia books. Buying one for each child would really add up, so you would just need to do a little internet searching, combine the info into a word processing file and print out little booklets. Maybe make up some sort of competition involving trivia and have a "Grand prize" for the winner?

The main disney website has some print-outs like coloring pages and word searches. Even older kids and teens can enjoy coloring, sometimes more than you would guess!

As a 16 yo a drawing pad and pencils is one of the first things I pack for a long haul flight, You can pick up cheap trinkets for the bags at places like poundland but you could also try somewhere like Tesco's for disney stationary.

I allways like to get a nice bag of cash, but thats just me.

I think for the older ones, guide books would be great. I dont know how you are planning your time in WDW, but if you are letting the older kids have time to themselves, that would be a great way to make the plan trip go faster. Have them look though guide books to see if there is anything they especially want to do. (and then the cash comes in handy :) )

Totally forgot about the Hidden Mickey's books. They are smaller than guide books! Also give them something to do on the plane with a purpose.

I'm in the process of putting together goody bags for my niece6 & nephew9 for our December trip. I bought 2 drawstring Disney backpacks on E-bay, and so far I have lanyards with wallet/ID holders, an assortment of general character pins (I figured if I bought their favorites to start with, they wouldn't want to trade), autograph books, clicky Sharpie pens in a variety of colors (I read where these are the easiest for some of the characters to us), photo albums, disposable cameras, Disney gift cards, band-aids, gum, small puzzle & coloring books, a couple T-shirts, and the Birnbaum Guide for Kids.

I'm also planning on bring my housekeeping tip envelopes & stickers along for them to decorate on the plane.

Pre fill your mousekeeping envelopes!! Sometimes the ones (or fives ) aren't the easiest to come by. We prefill at home and keep them in the carry-on. Actually they stay in my passporter, I bring it for the place to store receipts and write down all our numbers.

If you include disposable cameras in the goody bags, please remember that the x-ray machines at the airport (both for carry-on and check-in luggage) will destroy the film. You'll need to hand each camera to a security guard so the cameras don't go through the machines.

uuhh....:lookaroun why would kids want mousekeeping envelopes (with tips, I'm assuming) in their goody bags?

(sorry if I'm missing something, I've read this post about 5 times and can only assume you posted in the wrong thread?)
