Just noting that the Chairman of P&R owns the decisions. The exact same people who were blaming Chapek for when it rains now give Josh a free pass for park decisions.

Just calling out the dynamic and the selective blame being applied based on fan popularity.

Selfies or no selfies, Josh is in charge - all good AND bad is on him.
welcome to Disney fandom...
The new guy is ALWAYS the savior

Paul was better looking and gets no love.

But a stiff...nonetheless

Interesting to think if social media as we know it was around in the late 90s, would so many of the bad decisions that were associated with his tenure been forgiven or dismissed by the fanbase?

He did Josh's role. He was so bad he left Disney to become CEO of The Gap earning a huge increase in pay. After a few years there he was so bad he resigned and left with a $12M severance package.

...interesting.

That sounded like the “Naples manifesto”

People also pay $500 for Broadway tickets and show up in t-shirts and shorts. That doesn’t mean they deserve any less for the money they spent.
True - but it also cheapens/diminishes the experience for others. Can't tell you how many times we've been to a place like California Grille for a special night out and a family in t-shirts, flip flops and back-packs (pretty obvious they came right from the parks) sits down next to us. Yes, they have every right to be there, but makes us less inclined to go back.

And while Disney continues to cut offerings: Marie

Okay let’s make some comparable comparisons please. Universal would likely have halted construction on the coaster if they hadn’t already had a coaster going up in March.

Disney and Universal both have new attractions coming still, and both entities are cutting any and all superfluous fluff right now to save money.

Universal continued and amped up pace of the capital spending, even has an opening date while Disney once again halts it though. It is important to distinguish the different types of investments vs operating costs. Disney can't blame the pandemic on their typical spreadsheet ways. Tron was announced in 2017 and started construction years ago. Universal has had supplemental entertainment open when they could have cut more besides the low guest satisfaction minor attractions that are temporarily closed(and they found homes for the entertainers and any crew they could from said shows, as many of Disney's are still furloughed with no estiamted return. A much better balancing act than Disney's method.
