The former fry cart in Frontierland is being changed over to a more permanent structure and called The Golden Oak Outpost.

In the meantime, it reminded me that Disney is still capable of looking inward and paying homage to its history with new attractions. The name is obviously a tip of the hat to The Golden Oak Ranch, which is a sprawling Western movie ranch owned by Disney that was used in Old Yeller, Spin and Marty, and other Disney Western classics.

If you have the special edition DVD of Old Yeller, they have a featurette about it.
Anyhow, I love that people at Disney still do this sort of thing. (Kind of like the names on the Main Street windows, which all represent real people in Disney history.) It shows that history and detail still matter. Nice touch, even for a fry cart!
