I am going try Gideons again on my next trip.
Are the lines still crazy?
Any strategy on getting a cookie?
I heard about a virtual queue.
How does that work?
How do I sign up?
With a virtual queue, do you still wait for hours?

Well, when are you going? If it's a slower period (September), the waits should be a bit lower.

We "rope dropped" Gideons last September, and waited about an hour for our cookies. We stopped for breakfast at Earl of Sandwich, and that probably is why the line got so long. I think rope dropping might be a bit of a mistake though. We went again this past May, and just happened to be walking by in the middle of the day and the staff said the wait was only 10 minutes. It was a much more enjoyable experience that way. 🤪

Virtual Queue is totally at the discretion of the staff. I haven't seen one implemented in quite some time, but I think they reserve it for when the wait is longer than 2 hours.

If you really just want cookies though, you can uber to their other location which has much less of a wait.

Goodluck!

Yep, I'm going in September. I'll try and rope drop Sunday morning. I just need to find out what time they open and when the parking garage opens.

It’s not too terrible unless you’re there on a weekend day with local influx

I think “rope dropping” might be a bit extreme

It’s not really that crowded in wdw these days

When were you last there? The queue for Gideons forms everyday at 9am as soon as parking opens ahead of the 10am opening, and then it is solid for the rest of the day.

5 times in the last year…some during holidays and crowded times.

I’m not saying there isn’t a line…there always is some. But are we talking “rope dropping” a weekday in like September?

Maybe I missed that (wouldn’t be the first time)?

Rob's strategy

1- Rent a car.
2- Hop on I4 east
3- Take Exit 84B
4- Take N Mills Ave Northbound.
5- Turn right on Corrine Drive
6- Turn left into East End Market (the parking lot, NOT the building)
7- Park your car
8- wait 10 minutes for Gideons

10 minutes? We walked right up and were served. ;) Although it took us 15 minutes of walking around (both floors) to find the actual location.

The coffee cake cookie is my absolute favorite. It and the dark coffee cake cookie are only available at the Disney Springs location. There are a limited amount each day and they usually run out by mid-day, sometimes earlier. For me, it is totally worth waiting for!
