FW DVC and DI idea

Thought up of a design for a FW DVC resort and also DI.

Map of the project

I was thinking of having the hotel buildings to have this style. The structure and setup would look like this.. The buildings would be 4 or 5 stories tall and be right on the waterfront.

River Country would be remade into a pool area for this dvc and also FW. The feel would be the same, but some elements would be removed. The main pool wold remain, redone so that the water is not coming in from Bay Lake but the Bay Bridge would stay. The smaller pool would be an adults only area, more of a hot spring with a side bar.

Discovery Island would be kind of similar but remade somewhat. There would be two types of cottages on the island 1 and 2. The cabins would be for couples. On the island would be the usual guest amenities but also buildings designed to show the wildlife on the island and or was on the island.

I really like your idea for Discovery Island (as long as they can find a way to get rid of those damn vultures and for that matter from AK too). something should be on the island and I think this unique little adults only resort would be perfect.

the wilderness lodge expansion however isn't for me. first off the loby looks tacked on to this long line of dvc rooms which would be brutal for anyone staying at the far end, this is usually why lobbies are central in a hotels construction. second you seemed to have built this for the only reason of bringing back river country since from the looks of things there are a lot more DVC rooms then there are regular guest rooms in your design which is just unfeasible with an already saturated dvc market. as well river country is just point blank way to big for a resort pool, just look at the size comparison between it and the wilderness lodge pool or even the one at yacht and beach, there is no way they would ever get enough guests in there throughout the day to even have the operating costs make sense. also no body from wilderness lodge would ever use this pool and probably few of the people on the far end of the new DVC just because its such a ridiculously far walk, you would need a constantly running tram just to take people from the lobby and pool to their rooms and vice versa which would mess with the theme. so in conclusion first part great, second part unfeasible.

I like the idea of adults only and or niche hotels on the island in wdw. This is an idea I have for a wedding island.

Well this is the fun thing with these threads, to see what can and can not work and how to improve on them. One of things I have a problem with when designing this is the lobby and also how to use the first floors of the hotel buildings. The lobby could occupy the first floor of the hotel buildings in the center.

As for RC, the space would be large than the normal pool are but the actual pools would be about the same size. This area would get enough traffic because it would service two resorts, FW and DVC, and those resorts usually have guests that just stay in the resort during the day.

Intra-transportation and distances with every resort is a problem. The distance from the farthest unit is about the same as the farthest at any one of the values or moderates. Even with that, disney can use trams of some sort and have them fit in. The buses that once circled WS could be used in this resort.

When I first saw this, I thought this was about a DVC hotel in EPCOT Center's Future World; not a good idea.

A DVC or any hotel would not work in FW unless those countries were rebuilt. Even then, guests access and security would be a nightmare.

I would go for an adults only exclusive experience, not just wedding, it gets a little to specific then. I could see it as an elite deluxe resort experience.

as for the distance, the distance from the furthest camp ground to river country is a mile and just under a half mile from the furthest DVC, that's a pretty good distance if you ask me and makes your statement totally wrong considering pop century the largest hotel spread outside of this is a half mile at its longest point. I dont want to walk a mile or take the bus to get to the pool. also english double Decker buses have nothing to with the pacific north west wilderness, that would be ridiculously out of theme.

On top of this isn't a fort wilderness DVC basically another Wilderness lodge? its basically an identical concept. No way even if this was somehow created would you be able to fill that many rooms based on the exact same concept. at least if were going to build a new hotel lets make it a new deluxe hotel with its own concept like the Persian or something new and exciting for guests to experience. I'm sorry I liked your first idea this one just isn't so good.

Specific will create some resentment with guests. I can see something like the wedding island working because the faculties would be on premise.

I have this vision in my mind of what could be done to create this view for guests. I like the cove feel of the buildings facing each other along with the look for those on the lake. And yeah I want to have this DVC resort to get use out of RC without destroying it.

I think this revised plan can fit the bill better. It will add more of the cabins / cottages. Along with that, there would enough docks that guests can easily get to the lobby and the rest of the park.
