Ft. Wilderness

Does anyone know if Ft. Wilderness is open yet? I spoke to someone in Orlando this AM and he said there are still plenty of places without power. I'm wondering if this is what happened to Ft. Wilderness. Thankfully, he said everyone he knew was okay.

I could be wrong, but I think that everywhere on property (minus Celebration and everything else South of 192) was never effected by the power outage. Someone took pictures that showed 192 w/o power, but the WDW Property still had power.

To answer your question, everywhere on WDW property should have power at this point. All of the parks are online. There's no reason Ft Wilderness should be down, especially being so close to the MK resort area

Doesn't WDW have a power grid of its own?

Yes, operated by Reedy Creek Energy Services.

Disney never lost power it flickered a bit, but never actually went out anywhere. Fort Wilderness was closed longer because of extensive tree damage around the property.

I think you're right about the power grid - I heard WDW has its own, too. And I can't imagine that Disney would keep anything closed longer than absolutely necessary.

The pictures of Florida they've been showing on TV are absolutely devastating - especially Punta Gorda. My heart goes out to everyone.
