Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

I kinda doubt it. Once summer is over, attendance will drop. Events like this are expensive. I can't imagine they'll want the expense of nightly fireworks for the fewer people who will be there come September.

SoA will also start its annual Osborne makeover then as well. I could see the show at the Premiere Theater continuing, but that will probably be it.

Particularly with AI:E closing in January, I hope that they leave the show in the Premier Theater on a more permanent basis. And I hold out hope (although slim hope) that the popularity of fireworks at DHS will cause Disney to bring back a nightly fireworks show there, even if only on a seasonal basis (summer, Xmas/NewYears, spring break).

Of course, my real dream is that TDO 1) sees that nightly fireworks at DHS are hugely popular, and 2) sees that a "special" fireworks show is a great idea, and then decides to have two or three different fireworks shows that rotate. Frozen fireworks twice a week, Star Wars fireworks twice a week, etc. But that's really dreaming.

What chaos.

Whilst a new display and something new at all is very welcome, this knee jerk reaction is causing mayhem. Two weeks to prepare and program a new display. No stock. Shells being sourced from anywhere at not regular prices. Someone upstairs said make it happen without understanding how it happens.

I dare say no two shows will be identical.
I've been wondering since the rumors of this how the pyro product supply will work. They are normally on something like a 6 month order. I'm guessing the special event stocks and convention pyro might come into service here.
Brad is great at putting together these types of shows though. Looking forward to see what they can do.

I don't know...the ice rink may very well last through the holidays. Add some Christmas lights to it and voila... Elsafeller Center.

Great insight. It's the operational nitty-gritty like that which is always interesting to me.

And then they do all this and do NOT have a meet & greet with these girls? TDO already has visibly lower standards for princess face characters than Anaheim does, so I can't believe they are scrambling to find the perfect face in Central Florida to play Anna & Elsa. Just find a gaggle of semi-attractive college girls, get 'em all dolled up like Norwegian lassies, and push 'em out there into a quickie double-wide meet n' greet decorated with fake snow and icy alder branches. (A trip to Michael's Crafts will be required, TDO. Don't forget the glue guns.) Done!

The meet n' greet is what has proven to be the big demand with these Frozen characters. It should be like Santa Claus at this point, with an Anna & Elsa meet n' greet in every park and in every lobby of every Deluxe Resort on property. (Only half-kidding there.)

You summed it up with your first sentence. "What chaos."

Now we just need the hat to go bye-bye so we can get a better view of the Studios fireworks that are now become more and more regular.
Unfortunately, if they have any success in the projection portion of this event, utilizing the BAH, they'll probably claim that's justification enough to keep. Never mind that they used the phrase "Giant Sorcerer Hat Icon Stage" or something along those lines today.

yep I sense another mess at the studios, will they never learn? though the mini procession sounds descent but it shows how lazy when they could have had a whole frozen parade. I guess the days of any real new parade are over except for mk.

I don't understand why there isn't more of demand for an OLAF meet and greet. My daughter likes the princesses, but for the chance to do anything with OLAF would encourage another visit back

At the 150 seat Animation Academy in California Adventure, I noticed last weekend they now have a half dozen sessions per day to draw Olaf on the schedule board out front. That's almost 1,000 seats per day for Olaf drawing sessions. Mickey and the previously popular characters only get one session a day, out of the 25 or so drawing sessions they offer each 14 hour day at DCA. Olaf has taken over.

I imagine they could do the same thing at the smaller 40 seat Animation Academy in DHS too, if they haven't already started. All Olaf, all the time.

Stock is trying to be sourced from inside and outside the company from the east coast to the west coast. Anyone who has anything suitable is being targeted with cost not the main concern.

Particularly difficult with the calibre of shell required being tied up for 4th shows across the nation already.

How much supply do they store for the current firework shows at WDW?

This has to be the first time in a long time TDO is doing something with cost not being a concern. I say they deserve a golf clap.

Sourcing shells during the lead up to the 4th eek.

You really think they start planning only when it's been announced to the public? I'm sure this has been in the works for a while.

Ha! Of course they are trying to do this the week before the giant Independence Day holiday. Too hilarious to even consider, the poor guys.

If they get desperate, they may need to road trip up to New Hampshire (very lenient fireworks laws there) and get to a consumer fireworks store quickly. But even those big stores sell out of the good stuff within a week of July 4th.

Bring a truck TDO, you'll need a lot to get you through to August. :D

I feel like the M&G has only been in incredible demand because that's the only real presence Frozen has in the parks. A&E will be in the park for the "royal welcome" thing; it's not light they'll be totally hidden. And as someone who has had Frozen sing-a-long sessions with my little cousins, I'm sure that will be a hit, as well.

Even if hastily thrown together, it seems like a worthwhile addition to the parks with the varied experiences. Each by itself would be underwhelming, but as a whole seems to create a worthwhile entertainment addition to DHS for the summer. I suspect it will be popular, and if it is perhaps a version of it will continue beyond the Sept end date.

I can't imagine that they haven't thought of using the Frozen characters in some way for the Holidays. Something as simple as adding Elsa to turn the castle "into ice" in place of the Fairy Godmother would make so much sense. If the event is good, keeping the ice rink and fireworks and sing along seem like an obvious addition for the holiday line-up at the Studios.
