EPCOT Friendship Boats now servicing Germany?

I have not seen this news anywhere here (did a search). I watched today a YouTube video from Blog Micky that shows the Friendship Boat leaving from Canada area and taking passengers past Morrocco (not stopping) and dropping them off at Germany.

Does anyone know when this started (I was just there over Memorial Day and it was the same Canada to Morrocco and back trip) and will the boats now only service between Canada and Germany (leaving out the Morrocco and launch near Mexico)?

Sounds temporary to me. Its a shame they don't reopen the Germany/Mexico line.

Can't understand why not all docks/both routes are in operation any more, apart from cost-cutting I guess. But wouldnt' it make more sense for a permanent Canada-to-Germany service as well as Mexico-to-Morocco, perhaps in a consistent clockwise or anti-clockwise direction? The original routes are a bit short really aren't they.

Sadly, many of the Double deckers where either sold to Collectors or Museums...The Characters on Holiday Bus currently resides in Volo IL at the Volo Museum.

I miss the double decker bus too - i remember riding them as a kid. Adding 1 more boat certainly wouldn’t break the Epcot bank….. they don’t even run park open to park close.

And there'd be lines going out of the queues

I prefer the Germany to Canada route. Canada to Morocco is far too short. The longer route is also way more scenic. I hope they keep this. I know they did it for a while while the Morocco pier was under refurbishment. It's encouraging that they've brought back this route. Gone are the days where they would run more than one friendship in the lagoon so I too would prefer two or three going in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to all the docs but I'll happily take this as a second choice.

I think the boats look cool, adding kinetics to the lagoon, but they are utterly pointless.
