My wife and I have considered DVC for a few years, but this trip has been such a negative on our perception of it. We’re at the Poly and have been all week. We had to call multiple times just to get fresh towels and they will not come make our beds without us paying $30. I get this is policy, but if this is the norm, I’m shocked at how poorly they treat people who have invested so much into their stays. They treat yall like hot garbage. Please tell me we’re having a bad experience and this isn’t the norm.

DVC housekeeping is based on the contract between Disney and the purchaser. It’s not like a hotel stay.

Maybe your friend didn’t give you the details but daily room service is not part of the contract.

Most of the DVC owners I know don’t need or want daily housekeeping. It sounds like DVC is not for you.

It's too bad your friends didn't let you know how DVC works.

It's a "home away from home".

I assume you make your own bed every morning at home--that's how DVC works.

Do you put out fresh towels every morning at home? Good for you if you do, I guess, but that's not how DVC works.

DVC works for me because I don't need someone coming in to cleanup after me, even on vacation. When I stay in a hotel, I put out the DND sign, make my own bed and wipe out the bathroom sink.

It's perfectly legitimate for you to expect to be completely looked after on vacation, but if that's how you vacation, I recommend that you not stay in DVC accommodations.

I figured out I pay about $300/night when I stay in a BoardWalk studio (of course it varies a bit). The cash price is usually $500-900. For a savings of $200-600, I can sweep and take out garbage. I also tell my kids to not be pigs.
