Free Dining Plan?

I know that last fall Disney offered the free dining plan and was wondering when that offer started. I'm looking to book for the end of Oct and would love to get that perk. I would assume that is a last minute deal. When should I look out for it? Any information would be great. Thanks.

We got it in august beacause it was the slower season, thats probably when you might see it back if it does return

I don't know if it will return or not. They offer different last minute deals every year. Two years ago my girlfriend and I went on the 5+2 deal... which was a GREAT day... 7 days for the price of 5... tix included... That didn't come around this year, and we couldn't really afford to go, then I one day randomly checked with a travel agent for a price for this year... just because I was bored at work. Thank god I did (this was end of June) and they said like... beginning of august they would be offering free dining plan... I PRAY they do it again, because the price is too much for me and my girlfriend... not really, we could do it, but then our following semester at school would be tighter... with free food, we saved probably $500 we woulda spent on food (how much we spent on our 5+2 trip)... and i kept all the bills from dinners/snacks/counter services... for the two fo us, we ate about $850 worth of food free on the dining plan. It was incredible!

I personally doubt it will come back. There's no reason to bring it back because now people are using the dining plan all the time and they are happy to pay to use it.

I was lucky enough to receive the email to set up the 'Stay, Play, and Dine this fall' trip last year. I received the email in the first week of May, and travel had to be booked by June 2nd, so you only had a month to decide/plan your trip. It was good for travel between Aug 21-Oct 4. The email message contained a PIN number necessary to give to the rep, so you could not 'share' this deal.
This was an amazing deal, but it seems that Disney changes their gimmick every fall. In 2004 it was the 5+2 deal, 2005 was the DDP basically for free. I'm sure this year you'll see a much different deal. Also, it might not be available through the end of October (last year's deal only was good till Oct 4).
If you can wait to book, I would wait until late spring to see what the special for next year is. If you cannot wait to book, call a travel agent and check with them because sometimes you can book with them and then, if a better deal comes out, they can get you that deal. The offer started August 21. I know this, because the first day we were on-property, our Free DDP kicked in.

I signed up at the Walt Disney World site and put my email down everytime they ask me to. It's mostly luck of the draw, because I know many people who are registered at WDW site and Disney Visa cardholders who did NOT get this offer.

The offer was in local newspapers in the travel section --- ALL travel sites-- including mousesavers -- and discussed heavily here. the code was in the paper and on all these sites back in april or may -- be on the lookout in the coming months...
