Flooding At Contemporary Resort Causes Evacuation and Affects 80 Rooms

There was some flooding in the main tower of the Contemporary Resort today. The flooding affected about 80 rooms in the hotel, forcing many guests out. No word yet as to how/where those guests were relocated.

This news story was just released as "in development" so details should follow in the near future. It looks like most of the rooms affected were at or near the 12th floor. I assume that these rooms are very expensive. We don't yet know the exact cause of the water leakage (internal piping/watermain) or how it specifically affected the guests and their property.

According to guest relations, guests are being relocated to other resorts including Yacht and Beach and Boardwalk. Beyond that, looked pretty empty when i drove by 45 minutes ago. The affected guests are being taken care of in a very good way. several of them came to e-ride tonight and commented on how accommodating disney was being.

TimeKeeper beat me on this one... Was on the road to the labs when I heard the news.

As mentioned 80 rooms affected 12th through 5th floor where damaged in someway by the water. Also Fort Wilderness had a power failure which affected some camps sites.

Thats messed up. I remember when We were younger the fridge busted in our room and flooded everything on a ground floor. Disney gave us a free nights room and shome shirts.

my parents got a concierge room for next week I guess they will be relocated if it is bad. I wanted a report on it for when i go on my honeymoon.

Talk about a good way to ruin a vacation. That is bad for all the parties involved. I wonder how long the rooms will be out of operation.
