Flat Fee Express Passes

At Universal Studios you can you buy a flat fee pass (per day) that allows you to use the express lines for the attractions.

Would you prefer this system at Disney World instead of the current Lightning Lane system? There would be no more "choose one from group A and two from group B". There would be no more pay-per-ride.

Do you think Disney would ever consider it?

Very much doubt Dis will go for implementing a flat fee pass. They are having too much success with the profit cash cow they've developed and as long as guests continue paying for it it stays as is. Dis may in the future revamp the program if they come up with a more profitable system, until then it stays as is.
Dis is in a different situation than Uni due to total volume of guests and parks and doesn't have to do what Uni does to entice guests in with flat fee passes.

Disney's capacity (compared to guest numbers) is far too low to allow it, given Disney's failure to add high-capacity rides for years, and the fact that lightning lanes already have a high DAS guest load . Disney wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to allow too many guests to purchase the express lane passes, and then standby waits would be intolerable.

I totally get why you would ask, given the usefulness and popularity of the Express Pass system at Universal, the fact that getting it as part of your hotel stay (or paying one price for it) feels infinitely less nickel-and-dimey than Disney's approach, and it's a far simpler and more carefree way to enjoy shorter lines, with no need to pound an app or reschedule your day. Honestly, Universal's superior "queue manageability" is one of the chief reasons my family switched to Universal a few years ago, with no plans to go back to Disney unless or until it does a major overhaul of the Genie Plus (now Lightning Lane) system. Don't get me wrong: we still love Disney and are grateful for our many happy memories there, but we are "ride people," and having to exhaustively research the queuing systems and strategies (again), plan, pay, plan, pay more to make more plans, and then have to constantly adjust those plans during the vacation in order to get the most out of all we paid, tends to take the fun out of it.
