First time with the Disney Dining Plan - got a question...

Just booked a trip for September and this will be my first time trying out the Dining plan. I opted to upgrade from the free one to the Deluxe, which I think entitles me to 3 sit-down or counter meals per night and 2 snacks - I'm having a hard time figuring out when that kicks in though.

I'm arriving on a Wednesday and leaving on a Sunday morning - does that mean I have the following:

Wednesday - 3 meals, 2 snacks
Thursday - 3 meals, 2 snacks
Friday - 3 meals, 2 snacks
Saturday - 3 meals, 2 snacks
Sunday - nothing

Trying to plan out ADRs and getting some dinner shows and want to know what budget I have to work with as far as points are concerned.

Thanks!

You are correct in that you have a "set" of credits per NIGHT, not DAYS of your stay. However, you don't have to use them the 4 days in a row like you listed. If you wish to, you could skip using the credits on meals on the 2nd day, and allot a set of credits for the last day. Also, if you wanted to have more than 2 snacks on one day, you could use more snack credits from another day. Basically, you're not limited to the set number of anything per day. You can use them anytime during your trip!

you have a total of 3 meals x the number of nights you are staying(4) x the number of people in your party(?) = Dont know how many you are traviling with.

once you know how many meal credits you have you can use them however you wish. Starting when you check in till Midnight the day you check out.
BTW that will be A LOT of food. You can use 2 for the signature restaurants more now that you have the Deluxe Dinning plan.

Yeah, I realize it's a lot of food, but with a few signature meals (we're doing the hoop-dee-doo the day we arrive and cinderella's royal table for breakfast one day), but I still think it would be worth it economically after I calculated it out.

One Little Spark...
It is based on the number on nights of your stay.

For your trip...

4 x 3 meal credits + 4 x 2 snack credits per person.

They are redeemable the day of your check in through midnight the day of your check out. As has been mentioned, you can use them in any particular order you wish during the length of your stay.

We do the deluxe for the signature restaurants, plus we are rope drop to closing family and refuse to go back to the room. So the two sit downs per day is our break. Make sure you book 180 days out

all true, if you are staying in 1 resort BUT... keep in mind if you stay in different resorts it becomes different reservations in the same stay so it separates use of the dining plan based on # of days at each reservation...just happened to us over weekend. had 2 days in 1 resort 2 in another and had to use 2 sitdown, 2 quick meals, 2 snacks each 2 days or lost them..most people do not know this and if you plan certain events it might be an issue..

I like using the sit down meals as opportunities to relax as well - we may not be going back to the resort every day, so it's a good chance to cool your feet while taking in a meal.

I also plan to do a couple of the signature dinners which require two entitlements.
