First Time Onsite

First weekend in March we'll be staying onsite at the Art of Animation. This will be our first time at any onsite resorts and looking forward to it. Mostly we did this as our daughter will love staying in the Little Mermaid Room.

We plan to do checkin around 7:30ish am and take the bus over to Magic Kingdom. Have been reading up on everything, questions though is that they keep the pools warm right? We might take a dip the next day before shopping at Downtown Disney.

Yes, heated pools. Not bathtub heated, but comfortable, probably around 80, but that is just a guess.

Two things about the Bands:

First, since you said this was a spur-of-the-moment trip that's coming up soon, you've most likely missed the 30-day deadline to have the Bands sent to you. If you've gone online to customize them, they'll ship to the hotel and you'll get them when you check in. If you've missed the customization window entirely, you'll get gray Bands without names in them.

Second, you said you already have Magic Bands (presumably ones that you bought, since this is your first on-site stay). All Bands that are linked to your MDE profile can be used interchangeably throughout your stay. Yo're not limited to only using one Band for an entire trip. There's nothing additional that needs to be done, the CM at checkin doesn't have to do anything. As long as your hotel, park ticket and the Bands all show up under your MDE profile you're all set. You just grab a Band in the morning and go. (I have three different colors that I match to whatever I'm wearing that day).

Have to say that we loved the resort. From check-in to leaving everything was very easy and hassle free. Really enjoyed using the band to make charges throughout the park during the day and really wish that they would expand that out to everyone else.

The only thing is if staying at the Little Mermaid buildings, it's a hike to the main building for buses or when coming back at night and you forgot the refillable mug back in your room. All in all would stay there again next time. Liked the fact that on the bill you see the price of the room and the taxes. No extra lines for daily parking fee, resort fee, breathing fee, any other fee we can squeeze out of you.
