I graduate from college in about a month so I went ahead and applied for a position at WDW since that's the industry I want to work in. I wasn't expecting such fast results but I just scheduled my first interview for early next month. I'm excited, but I've worked for the same small company for close to a decade so I really have no idea what to expect. I'm professional and friendly so I'm not worried about that, but any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It went really well, however I lacked one qualification they were looking for so I didn't get it. I have been put on a wait list for another opening. Due to my extensive experience in F&B, they suggested I start in that area and work my way up. I'm not thrilled about that because I'm done with F&B, but I understand what they are saying. I applied for guest research specialist 1.

I can tell you that I started in a line of business at Disney that wasn't my ultimate goal because that's where my experience was. It took me about 4 years in total but I've since moved on to a line of business that I wanted to be in and I'm now in a job that I absolutely love. With Disney it's much easier to move around once you get your foot in the door. Most hard to obtain jobs are given to internal applicants because you are already aware of the Disney culture, brand, etc. so your training is a lot shorter.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. I have no problem starting at the bottom since I knew thats where I would start anyway. Good to hear it wasn't just corporate bs about moving up once I'm in.
